fun car... quick and sporty with great turning(love the tight turning radius)nice inside with the roll down back window..and speakers next to your head to get a louder sound..hard top is nice for sunny days and the trunk has a custom rack to put your top in so it doesnt get scratced.
Weakness:
leaks, lots of rattles,NO TRUNK RELEASE, bad blind spot, not really made for tall people. I got my del sol recently that had been ran into the ground... but minor repairs has been made and everything is running great still. I paid 4500 with 60,000 miles on it. It had been in a minor wreck with body damage and also had been sitting for a long period of time without being ran. Its rusted all over on the bottom and the paint and floor mat are really faded. I love the car though. Its fun to drive and easy to manuever. I did have a altenator problem and need my transmission and alignment fixed. But for what i think that car has been through that is awesome to compare what is should need. |

Del Sol Si
Strength:
It accelerates quickly, and handles smoothly around curves. Its compact size makes it easy to park, no matter how little the space!
Weakness:
The roof leaked when i first got it, but i found a way to fix that. Thr drivers side floor mat moves around and gets caught underneath the pedals and my feet once in a while. Awesome little car. Especially to take to the beach. A lot of people honk their horns at me now. Its a hott car! |

Weakness:
blind spot...but you get used to it..and know how to look around it! I LOVE MY DEL SOL!! I have had this car since 95, and it has over 150K miles on it..and it still runs like a champ! No problems..AT ALL! This is the best car they ever made..wish they still made them. seriously...150K miles...and not one breakdown! (I do follow the mannual for maintence and upkeep)..but no surprises, nothing unexpected, and no additonal costs! |

very fast great gas milage love the design not a lot of people have one (unlike a civic) you wont give friends a ride (two seater) if you are thinking of getting a car get a del sol
Weakness:
sometimes big trucks won't see you(thats their problem) very nice car, i have to say the best i ever had. the si model w/ 127 hp is fast but i drop a b16a dohc vtec and is very very fast, i beat mustangs 5.0 like nothing. great looks, love the t-top, my advise lower the car put rims and enjoy a hot day in california with the top off Similar Products Used: 96 civic ex 93 eclipse |

gas mileage, hot look makes people curious (till they see it's only a honda), fast and nimble, low center of gravity, easy to park, got a good size trunk, the inside is spacious, hard top is excellent, original stereo system is pretty good, parts are cheap and easy to find, amongst honda products the del sol has some of the best features for the price.
Weakness:
Blind Spots (but you get used to it once you learn how they are), things tend to rattle (like the door, windows), engine gets weak with AC on (the manual says it too), like all hondas, exhaust systems need changing after 7-8 years (they rust and crack), going over bumps is scary (like any other small car), sometimes the trunk leaks rain (I have seen the same problem with other civics), even though the car is spacious, it sits low to the ground, so it's hard to get out for tall/older people, stay away from SUV's they can easily climb your car, at night you will get a lot of reflexion of the rearview mirror, so becareful. The 94 si model has 125 hp and is the loaded model. Got cruise control, power windows/mirrors, auxiliary lights (no power locks). Mine had only 58000 miles and that's why I bought it. Try going for the later models because, as with any car, after certain number of years, they tend to lose their glow. These cars are 2 seaters so consider that. |

Si del sol
Strength:
surprisingly good passing power for a honda. The targa top is perfect for all weather because it stays warm during the winter and you can take it off during the summer. Only requires one person to take it off and store in trunk. excellent trunk space, even when top is in trunk.I love the speakers in this car. When i purchsed it, I was surprised to find that they were stock. Excellent gas mileage. Where I live, it is a must to be able to parallel park and this car I think is the easiest car to park, especially when you have to squeeze into such tight spaces.
Weakness:
The interior carpet is coming up on the drivers side, and the drivers door rattles when going over a bumpy road. The driver side window motor is about to die, but was like that when I bought it. Has no antenna, again like that when purchased. I am 19 years old and this is my second car. I never got mommy or daddy to pay for any of it so I knew I had to make the right decesion when buying my car because I knew they wouldnt help pay for any repairs. Thats why I chose to go with honda because I know they are reliable. I have always loved del sols because they have the reliability of honda but dont look like the millions of other civics that you see every day around every corner. My favorite part is, like many others, the targa top. I am only 5'7" and 115 lbs and can still get the top off myself with ease. It is ideal during the summer and perfect for the winter because it doesnt let the cold in.It has awesome handeling for going around tight turns. lightweight, corners well, responsive engine, reliable. And best of all, TARGA TOP!
Weakness:
leaking issues through roof seals are known in eariler models, the removable top can get noisy. One of the more unique Hondas, definatly meant for the summer. The del Sol has very responsive cornering ability as well as good acceleration. Similar Products Used: none. |
