Strength:
Outstanding handeling, great economy and in a very well built attractive package. Surprisingly durable in every aspect.
Weakness:
Window and door moldings rust, but it's an easy fix. Ride can be a bit rough, especially under "spirited" driving, but this is common in nearly all sports cars. Awesome little car! My first Japanese purchase, and it truely impresses. I bought the vehicle with front end damage that I repaired in two days, complete and ready to paint. The engine is the 1.5 Carb engine with a newer JDM 4spd automatic. I have no problems reaching 115+ MPH and enjoy excellent fuel economy as well. This is a fantastic car, loads of fun to drive and takes little to no effort to maintain considering its age and having many miles on the odometer. Similar Products Used: 82 VW Rabbit. |

To many to list! 99% of the repairs needed to restore this car are very affordable!
Weakness:
Rust magnet, Brakelights will take on water, hatch may leak, some dumb kid may get a hold of it first and put a butt load of silly crap on it that you'll have to go back and take off! Unfortunately that's what's been driving up the cost of CRX's, these dumb kids trying to get their money back from all the CHEAP useless crap they put on the car! Although I have only had this car in my possession for roughly a month now, I have had my eye on it since I was 16 yrs old. (presently 28 yrs old) I have always and will always love this car. It's sporty, tasteful and quick. I know it looks like a cheerleaders car but chicks love guys in it! (wink-wink) There are so many possiblities in regards to modifications, the only bounderies set will be by your wallet! Whether it be import tuner or reliable daily econobox the CRX is up to the challenge. Plainly put buy one.....even if you don't like it(hey....you can't impress the world!)sell it! Trust me someone will want to buy it from you ASAP! CRX owners are a special breed, we truly love our cars and will go through extreme lenghts to aquire them! very quick and responsive over 3000 rpms handels right up there with the best of them and its super light weight makes it the perfect car to tune to race
Weakness:
i dont like the 1.5 liter in the car just not enough for me (im planning on a B16A1 up grade with turbo charger and blow off valve should be fun.) i love my rex it runs like a champ. top speed is about 125 i picked it up from a friend for 400 bucks and all it needed was a new clutch. ive added a new exhaust with magnaflow muffler and the sound is awesome. did some interior cosmetics and a can of spray paint can work miricles for an old worn dash. since i bought the car its recived a new clutch, tranny, starter, alternator, exhaust, and plugs i would recommend some of these mods youll notice the differance in performance overall. Handling good in the snow reliability Roomy lasts for ever with regular tune-ups amazing gas mileage like 36/42
Weakness:
none! but if i was going to be picky then it could use some help with getting off the line. but all civics are horrible of the line. Great Car, I was originally looking for a civic ex but fell in love with this car at first sight. There is tons of room in the back and is very roomy for a small car. don't let the low HP fool you, on many occasions if have got the car up to 120+ mph with no problem. i fully believe that it could have done 130. the only problem is at speeds like that the car gets lift and you feel weightless so if you plan on going that fast on a regular basis then get some more down force. The only mod I added was a costum cat back exhaust. I never had any problems with mine and it had over 250,000 when i got it. The only thing was i had to get a new radiator. i sold it with 302,000 miles because i was going off to school. The handling was absolutely amazing, it could take corners at high speeds like a champ. and once you get it rolling your gone. Similar Products Used: Acura RSX Type S Honda Civic Si |

Most fun to drive. Love the sound out of the carb engine, FI is too quite but faster.
Weakness:
rust on underside, wish i had it rust proofed. But got all the damage fixed for $300 cdn. 87 FI leaks at rear taillights but its an easy fix. bought the 87 crx carb 1.5, best car I have ever driven to this day. Bought another 87 FI, which i dont like as much but at least I have 2 of them now and can keep driving my crx'x forever. I am contemlating a third with a carb engine. |

B16A engine. It has 170hp stock. Redline is 8200rpm. JDM everything including racing seats and bigger brakes and suspension. It takes off like a rocket!
Weakness:
Headlights are made of plastic, starting to yellow out need some wet sanding and polishing. Seats are ripped. Few rust spots on the hood, I can take care of it. I got lucky! Power everything including side mirrors fold back. It has rear seats! The car is very fast for a stock engine. My 2nd CRX. Weakness:
the top part of the actual bumper rusts, 2 seater(not really a problem though) Im impressed that the car runs as good as it does. It is very old but it still seems to have a lot of potential. It handles well and its a fun little car. Its definately good for a project car, if you like like small imports. |

Fun to drive! Fast & has awesome acceleration even in 5th gear. Great gas mileage. Comfy seats. Tons of space for a small car... even got an 8 foot kitchen counter top in it once! Cheap maintenance. Oh yeah... it's FUN to drive!
Weakness:
Only two seats... problem for those of us with kids. Had a couple of issues with the sunroof... a little rust on top & problems getting it closed! Useless in the snow! Had one in NY for 4 winters & it sucks! Not great in rain either, especially with Yokohama tires on it. Actually the worst thing is all the people bugging me to sell it all the time!! This is the second CRX I have owned... shouldn't have given up the first one! Bought this car used in '97 with 65000 miles on it... now I have 116,000 & it runs as good as the day I bought it. Have done several cross country moves (complete with kid & cat!!) and it is still comfortable after sitting in it for 800 miles a day. Love this car! Similar Products Used: 1990 CRX Si |

none my dad has a CRX. He has told me that this car is the best of all the vehicles he has owned. Of all the cars we have it is my favorite. It's sort of sad that Honda discontinued the crx. my dad's crx is yellow and he is the original owner. It is totally original. Similar Products Used: none |
