This Car is great... all the people that have been saying bad stuff are FORD haters...i bet they drive japs cars...anyways this car is great and the recall problems have been solved...it rides smooth over bumps...sterring is great...fast car for a four banger...great gas mileage...great sound system thats stock...this car has everything and is better than a exspensive jap car thats taking away money from americas economy

i love the feel of this car. It has really stiff stearing which I liked..and you can see out over the road and your hood well, the seats adjust up and down. It is very weak unless you get the SE model which still is weak, and cannot handle any sort performance. If you use it to the best of its abilities, it will die. Its a ford, you have to baby it. I didn't even drive fast, a little i did, not fast, but in a rush a bit. The car sounded like it had 100K at 30K . It styarted to get loud, weak, and run into problems. Then it wouldn't even start. I will never buy american again, that was my third ford, well in the family. My family has finally learned its lesson, American cars are such a disgraceful emblem of our country. They make me want to move away...

I just bought my car used 5 days ago. I am having major problems starting the car takes about 10 trys now to have anything happen (its not the battery). This morning when i went to start it after 2 trys of cranking the key the RPM gauge and the MRP gauge went all the way up and then down. Next try on starting it, it worked but the gauges went up again! Usually i only have to crank it 3 or so times but 3 times tonight it took at atleast 10 trys! Also the brakes loook new but squeek almost everytime i brake... cheep brake pads? or defect? O' MAN WHAT DID I GET MY SELF INTO???

I DO like the car. Great ride, steering, cargo room, features. Love the smaller steering wheel and higher driving position. Decent gas mileage though not as good as the civic. Looks good (liquid grey), and is a truly sporty looking wagon. "Feels" like a bigger car than it is.

Although its been great so far... Now I'm scared. Hell, I even paid too much for it. Am I screwed? comments?

I have always liked the look, and cargo room of the Focus Wagaon. I broke down and traded in my 2002 Civic for a 2003 Focus Wagon. In my excitement, I never researched the car. I see them on the road (never in the side of it) and had it once as a rental last year and loved the week I had it. It wasn't untill after buying it, and over paid for it that I read the reviews. I'm sure you know what I found! Ive had minor issues that I have taken it to the dealer for... needed a "tweek" and thats about it. It should not have needed these tweeks though. I drove the Honda for 1.5 years without anything but a blown headlight... nothing. Does anyone have anything to say about their 2003 Focus that have been driving it longer than a couple of months? I bought at the end of 03. Anyone buy an 03 in 02 that has had issues. I have only found good reviews on 03. I know that most of the issues have been corrected, but should I expect the worse??

Brake rotors cause tire area to allways look dirty.

Love the Focus but having stalling problems. The dealership doesn't seem to know why this is happening. I have seen web sites noting this problem so I am not alone.

The Ford Focus is a cute package, but a group of 10 year olds could probably build a better car than that! My car won't start! Since when do cars not start when you turn the key? We use the master key, so it is not the anti-theft. There is something wrong with the ignition cyclinder. The dealer seems to think it is not Fords fault. Why is it that I own another car over 10 years old, and it doesn't have an issue starting the car. I think it is unbelievable to think Ford doesn't cover warranties on such mandatory parts such as the ignition! The car only has less than 60 000km on it. Pathetic, never again Ford! We are selling it, and we will never look back!

Tires / Alignment Brakes

I wrote a review in Jan 2003 and was going in for the 5th set of tires the dealer did replace them as again and did a alignment that Ford told them to do. The tires lasted about 25,000 thay are goodyear and they are shot again. The dealer has been graet but Ford was not nice when I spoke to them. I also have the brake issue. I'm glad for the ones that have a good car but for us with a bad one it is a nightmare. I wish someone at Ford would look into this on the tires better to see what is going on with them.

CHEAP and easy to buy

I think this car is bumper to bumper cheap, under engineered, plastic coated disposable; it will no doubt rival the Edsel for being infamous. I am almost afraid to check my mail for fear of another recall notice. Did I say I already received ten of them?

I believe that Ford should be sued for putting this piece of junk on the road, 10 recalls since I first bought it. The car is the lowest end of low-end vehicles. It depreciates faster than you can pay it off that says everything right there. The Kelly blue book will show you how little they are worth. BEWARE this Ford really is found on road dead!

So far this car has been very good. I have put 8,000 miles on it so far without any hick ups. I had heard Ford was having problems with the Focus but never read any reviews on it until now. I actually really enjoy this car. It looks good, the sound system is amazing, its comfortable to drive but the gas mileage could be a little better. I really hope not to experience some of the problems described in these reviews.
