Strength:

Exterior styling

Weakness:

Interior is cheap. Quality overall is bad. Transmission trouble. Customer service lacks CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Aside from what I think of the dealership i purchased it from, this is what i think about the car. AN AWFUL PRODUCT. The interior is terribly cheap for a Dodge product. This car appears to be at the beginning of a 'work in progress' on the design table. It should have been left on the table until complete to spare us the misery of ownership. I purchased the car used as a ceertified vehicle with 16000 miles. The transmission chirps when decelerating and chugs at steady low rpms. The service department said this was normal and that all the 08 Avengers did this. Unacceptable. I have not driven another to confirm. The right rear door will not open from the outside. Owning this car was a huge mistake. Put it on the do not buy list and especially do not buy it from Gary Miller Dodge in Erie, Pa

Strength:

looks are good

Weakness:

uncomfortable seats, no power when accelerating, tire pressure sensors need work(read low when they were ok) gas mileage not what stated, not even close.cabin pressure thump when a window is opened in the rear, and other windows closed.

did anyone when developing this car ever drive it? i bet the answer is no, going down the road i thought i would get a little air by rolling down a rear window, and lo and behold the interior started to have a pressure thump so bad my ear drums hurt! somone dropped a ball here for sure. for pickup and go, again they dropped the ball, i couldn't pass a car with it no matter what the circumstances meant i got stuck behind people on single lane side going 45mph in a 65mph for miles. well that just darn near scares me. same goes for getting on the freeway, couldn't even manage to get up to speed on a onramp. was glad i just had it for only a month and traded it in.

Strength:

Going 60km and up.
Stereo system sounds is amazing.
Rims and tires are perfect.
Roomy and spacious inside.

Weakness:

I just change driver side wheel bearings and that's about it.

I have this car for about a year now, it has 163k when I first bought it. I was just surprise with the price, but anyways I happen to purchase this car and the first time I drove it, I'd love it for the first time. Handling was so good and you feel secure inside. I don't have much problem with, since I do maintenance regularly and clean them all the time. I have some good complements about it...I have mine black with tinted windows. I have some problem with the headlights, it looks so dull now and getting a minus points with this issue, but I've read one comment and suggestions that wet sanding it with a grit 1500 and wax them properly. I was surprise and happy with the results, it was shiny and it looks so new now, I have my view specially at night very good...thanks for that I appreciate it, bigtime. Right now I have 205k and knock on the wood but still running perfect and cruising faster specially on highways, he was fast, top speed that I went approx. about 175km, it was cruising perfectly.

Strength:

good mileage and sporty

Weakness:

bad wheels and cheap parts.

Was suckered into this car by a used car salesman and at first was impressed with the gas mileage and performance but just like any other dodge car after a while the cheap aluminum engine started to wear very badly and then started to fall apart. For example missing very badly in the #2 cylinder. I had to trade it in before it crapped out completely and unfortunately I owed over $6,000 on the thing and it was only worth $1,000. Terrible wheels also. Can't tell you how many tires I went through and I know at least 3 lugnuts rusted and stripped off the studs of my hubs. Decent mileage to credit the vehicle but in the long run even though I paid more than I should have I don't think the avenger is a depenable vehicle in any case.

Corners like a dream, sits right down. Had her at 142 +/- and she wanted to give me more, felt very solid.

Weakness:

Slow slow off the start... Feel Like Fred Flintstone up til about 25-30 mph...

Luff my Avenger...

Need I say more ;o)

Sleek and stylish body still gets compliments after 8 years. The engine is strong and reliable..

Dropped in a K&N air filter and performance pkugs and wires. Contemplating Cold Air intake..

I so enjoy watching Civics pull up next to me and rev up there lawn mower engines... the look of surprise on there faces when I pull past them after 30....

Strength:

Its got good top end speed, Stylish, good on gas, nothing has broken yet.

Weakness:

Came with a wood trim which i hate, pretty sure the previous owner had it installed. Not great off the line. Headlight got fogged up (common with this car)

I got the car i great condition with only 50k on it. Switch to synthetic oil and put cold air intake and she runs amazing. Stock it beats my brothers tuned up civic. With new exhaust this car will fly. Good on gas, handles amazing, and it looks extremely sporty. And for gear heads there is room for a bigger engine to swap in, like a 3.0
