Alot of my friends think I drive a Lexus GS 450 (but I didn't pay quite as much). Car has everything but.. see weakness. Love all accessories. Looks great, handles even better with fatter tires. MPG. Full sized spare. Fits plenty, strong A.C., interior has nice chrome looking handles and nice electronic Equilizier display.

Weakness:

Lack of power trunk. Vanity mirrors, yeah yeah cup holders, power is decent but I am still always passing everyone on the highways at 75mph, so please step on the gas- the car can do it. Have scratched the rear bumper too easily. Lights too yellow in color. ahh don't feel like complaining anymore, pretty much will keep car forever anyways.
Lack of aftermarket upgrades- but slowly coming about.

My brother had one before I did. And I basically was really jealous. The car hands down beats ALL mid-sized class competition. All of manufacturer problems have been covered up till now, so I've had to pay for 0 service and every other oil change. You might think I am weird but I've decided to "pimp" out my CDX. 17" Chrome 5 star wheels with 225-35 low profile tires. Tinted windows, white lights, and two subwoofers + 2 amps, some others. It's really made the car look aggressive, get lots of looks with add-ons. You should buy it if you only want to spend 20G's on the best sports-lux car for price- excellent first luxury car. Don't, if you feel like wasting money on something more expensive.

Weakness:

Small cup holders (not a big deal)
Dash may get small bubbles if left in direct sunlight (use a UV protectant and it'll be ok)

You can't find a better car at this price. Roomy interior, stylish exterior and an impressive 4 cylinder (at 80MPH it just keeps going). I drive 150 - 200 miles a day - all highway - and the Leganza is perfect.

They may have cut corners here and there, but it's expected considering the price. The cup holders are small, but you'll get over it - I drink coffee 24/7. All-In-All a solid car with room for the kids.

If you're looking for a sports car, you'd better wait for the 2002 Leganza V6 or visit your local Lexus / Audi dealers.

All the features: radio, comfort & does not use a lot of gas ( now that gas is sooo expensive) I save alot.

NOT FAST ENOUGH, NEEDS RUBBER BUMPERS!
(THAT ALL I CAN THINK OF) :-)

My fiancee' and I just brought the vehicle last week, Let me start by saying " I LOVE IT" the small vechicle that runs like the best of them, I have to agree with the rest, if only this car was faster.

This car is so good that I thought I was getting ripped off, why, a car that has so many features for so little money, and no hassle.....i thought this was a fake that was going to explode when you drive out of the dealer. :-) I know its silly,, I will sum it up like this, The car is the BOMB!!!!

THANKS DaeWOOD!!!

Strength:

outstanding stereo system, roomy interior and trunk

Weakness:

engine power

I was TDY in the military and my wife rented the car in Honolulu, HI. We used the car for only 4 days. The only thing i had a problem with was the power. The 4 cyclinder had power but not enough for the hills in Hawaii. It needs to have a 6 cylinder engine for my needs. I plan on buying a new car when i return for Kosovo. This would be my first choice if I get and additional vehicle for my wife and future children.

Strength:

The aesthetics of the car, the roomy interior and standard features. I get many compliments from strangers and friends alike. I believe the car will be reliable enough to relinquish to my son for college in 4 years.

Weakness:

Fuse box refuses to stay put. Parts such as air filter have to be ordered at the dealership. The colour options are stale and limited in my opinion although I do like the colour I've chosen.

My fiance' and I test drove another Hyundai, and considered the Saturn. We were impressed with the look and feel of the car as well as the warranty. We read many good reviews, and took our time in deciding. We only paid $800.00 over invoice, and were well aware of the fact that in comparison to pricier cars such as the Accord and the Galant we were getting an excellent deal. We bought the vehicle in Feb. 2001 and have not had a problem thus far with any maintanance issues 10+ miles later. I have a teenaged son who commands a lot of space in the back seat when we travel, and as a professional I feel it is in keeping with my lifestyle.

REPAIRS!!!

I thought it was a GREAT car, but after having it just over a year, it started falling apart! I've had to have new breaks, bearing in the front end, found that a metal coil was factory installed in the oil pan, and now I have to have the oil pan replaced, and the straw that breaks my back - the cam sensor has gone out, causing the car to surge and stall. But its all repairable - with considerable time and effort on my part.

Other then that - I've no complaints. Ride is smooth, lots of power for the type car, comfortable, etc.

Model Reviewed: DaeWoo Leganza CDX

Strength:

It has style that looks like money.

It is unique on the road, as not too many are rolling around the streets.

It is solidly constructed and gives an instant impression of quality and reliability.

It is spacious, with an ENORMOUS back seat. My 6' friends sit in the back with inches in front of their neads, without my needing to move my seat forward, and I am 6' tall.

Weakness:

Boy! I really hate to knit pick, because this car is a dream. Some people say, "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is." This is the exception to the rule.

BUT...

Gas mileage! Not that 28 - 30 mpg is awful, but for its weight and engine size, DaeWoo should have been able to tweek that up to 35 mpg.

I suppose I could whine about the cup holders, like everyone else. They are miniscule and non-existent in the back seat.

Also, I've read on a couple of other reviews that the rear bumper paint scratches easily. It does. I bumped it with a metal cooler and it scratched.

I had to replace my grill after two weeks, because the chrome began to peel. The new grill, which was free, seems fine.

My cruise control speed sensor was broken when I got the car, causing it to surge and lose speed. It took two visits to get the mechanics to believe me, but they've ordered the part. The jury is still out on that fix.

My final peeve is that the owner's manual and plastic cover is SLIGHTLY taller than the glove compartment is deep, so it hangs up the latch every time it opens and closes. What's up with that? Somebody at DaeWoo needs their hand slapped with a ruler for that one.

AWESOME!!! Nowhere could anyone find this much car for this little money. I spent a little over $14K for a brand new car with aluminum wheels, power moon roof, kicking stereo, woodgrain and leather interior and power everything (seats, mirrors, windows...).

And, the car looks GOOD. Its Torino Italian design has sharp, crisp lines, a beautiful grill that screams money and an attention to detail that is a rare find in anything less than $25,000. The interior is laid out well and handsome. The grey leather with woodgrain, with two-tone grey and black really comes together in a fantastic way. All my friends are jealous of my car and I love to stare at it as I walk to and from it. Who could ask for more?

Oh. The car drives great. It is responsive. I've read magazine complaints of weak power, but I think those people just didn't push that pedal down far enough. The car drives tightly and stomachs the abuse I give it without complaint, without breaking.

Similar Products Used:

Honda Accord- It is VERY similar in almost every respect, EXCEPT DaeWoo did a much better job on classing up the interior, where Accords are Spartan, and DaeWoo Leganzas may cost nearly a dime a dozen, but they aren't on the road, Honda Accords are EVERYWHERE! I like a unique car.

Subaru Loyal- I drove my 92 Subaru until 180,000 miles, when I got my DaeWoo. The DaeWoo is similar in feel and handling (2WD). Subaru costs much more and needs to farm its design out to Italy like DaeWoo did.

Very nice looks, excellent handling, competent powertrain, very rigid structure, comprehensive equipments of a luxury car, nice materials in its interior, dynamic dashboard design, very comfortable, and pretty quiet.

Weakness:

small cup holders.

Before I bought the Leganza, I read a lot of reviews about the car. I disagreed with professional reviews about its weak engine. From my experience in driving the car, I am of the opinion that the engine is powerful for a four cylinder. It has a low end torgue and engineered by Dr. Ulrich Bez of BMW. In my opinion, Daewoo Leganza, is made up of many impressive automative engineering such as Lotus tuned suspension, Porsche designed chassis, Safety engineered by Mira of the UK,and Italdesign. This is an EXCELLENT car and it is very affordable.
