Strength:

Good cornering grip.

Weakness:

High engine noise...unreliable engine..many mechanical gremlims..not worth the headache or the cash.

The biggest mistake I ever made. This is the worst car Ive ever had the displeasure to drive..a total lemon. One month after I bought it, I had a power steering leak that no one could apparently fix except the dealer. He charged $500 because he claimed he had to remove the cover to find the leak. A month later, the ABS let go on me and once again I had to spend $460 to fix it. Now just with 162000KM on board..the transmission is dead. Another 1500 for a used transmission. This car is the pits and Im selling it as soon as I can.

Strength:

Gas mileage. large interior, looks like a lil' Jaguar.

Weakness:

electrical problems: odometer and tach go in and out!!! i understand it may be the instrument pod but i ahve not worried about fixing it. Also: the rain channels stop up causing water to backup and "slosh" around until you clear it out.(i understand there is recall that says to replace the drain outlets and that fixes it) Otherwise, I am very happy with it

Cars runs and drives great! I am very happy with it.

I can sympathize with you all. I have a '95 Cirrus, which has been nothing but trouble. I spent $5,000 in the last year alone on transmission lines, water pump, engine valve job, new starter, etc. To boot, I'm on my fourth computer which still does not run right. The computers cannot be purchased new either... they're all rebuilt (I have a Commodore 64 from 1984 which is more reliable). All gears are always lit up on the electronic console so I never can tell if I'm in reverse, drive, neutral, etc. The speedometer needles spins all the way around the dial (sometimes many times in a row), the tachometer stopped working a long time ago, and the car constantly overheats. In addition, the front-end suspension has been non-existent for some time. I can't remember the last time I did not bottom out on the smallest of potholes. Feels like I'm rolling over a rock pile in a dumpster. -- Never Another Chrysler. -- ~Scott (stick with Toyota Camry or Honda Accord - the 2 most reliable cars made).

Rommy, great stereo beautiful body work.

Weakness:

the brakes squeak

I purchased this car used on May 7, 2002 it had 92290 miles. I really like this car, but now I'm alittle leary of it. While driving out Rt 50 one Sunday afternoon at about 65 mile per hr suddently the car just loses power I managed to get to the side of the road where I sat for a few moments then it restarted. After leaving the restaurant to return home it happen again not check engine light or any panel lights came on. I was told by some machanics that I needed a tune-up and that would correct the problem. I purchased ignition wires, spark plugs(platinum), distributor cap and roto and fuel filter. I took the car to a Chrysler dealer they said the car was running fine this cost me $752.67. I drove the car from the dealer headed home the car stopped doing the same thing it did when I took it in. Went back to the dealer and at this point they put it on the diagnostic machine I sat there for over two hours and they could not come up with the problem. I left the car there so that they could find the problem. I'm beginning to think they don't know what the problem really is.

Really roomy, great stereo, really nice interior, great looking car

Weakness:

brakes, brakes, brakes - they are always squeaking

I bought this car used and have owned it now for about a year and half. Previous owner leased the car for three years and then traded it in on a brand new Cirrus. It has almost 120,000km on it now. I have really enjoyed this car. Really roomy, rides great. The only real problem I have had with it is the brakes. Had to replace the pads a couple of times and had to replace a ball joint. Six disk CD player is wonderful and going strong. She looks and sounds great. The headlights could be a litter brighter. We did have a problem getting her to start once, we replaced the spark plug wires and didn't have a hitch since. All cars have glitches, that's just a chance you take I guess. Based on the other reviews I've read I can't say that I would recommend this car to anyone but I can say that my great has been great so far, knock on wood!

Strength:

Roomy interior, handles well on the highway, and takes the corners really nice at high speeds.

Weakness:

All of the above.

When I was 19 I begged my parents to co-sign for a loan to get "my dream car". Three years later my parents and I are still kicking ourselves in the butt. With all the money I have stuck into repairing this car, I could have had the loan paid off at least twice by now. I've had problems with just about everything except the muffler! I even had to replace the engine when the car hit 125,ooo miles (it was cheaper to replace the entire engine than all the "little" problems at the time) This car has died on me, and left me stranded in the middle of no where so many times that it is now a -h--sl-r (because i've kicked the c,r,y,& e letters off the side of my car. I wouldnt recommend this car to my worst enemy!!!!

Strength:

Space inside the care, it is very roomy.

Weakness:

Everything!

This is the first newish car I bought. By buying this car I thought I wouldn't have the problems that I have had with other cars because it was newer. Well! Two months after buying this car the problems started...I don't need to get into details but every year I have a few things to replace in the front end of the car. Brakes, Bushings, Swaybar Links, etc. I am a single mom and I am afraid to take long trips with my kids in this car fearing that it will break down in the middle of no where. I would NOT recommend this car to ANYONE!

Strength:

Drives well, good gas mileage, roomy and well equipped for the price

Weakness:

Electrical problems, transmission, trade-in-value (resale) is atrocious, expensive repairs

Not bad for the first five years but things are going downhill quickly. I've always liked driving this car and had few problems for about five years and 50k miles. Then the fuel pump went out ($600 repair), the check engine light came on about 65,000 miles and I had the plugs and wires replaced (platinum supposed to last 100k, another $600), check engine light came back on and the dealer said it was a bad sensor ($300), now the check engine seems to be on permanantly and they tell me there is nothing wrong with it. The transmission now is giving me problems (74k miles). Sometimes after backing out of drive and putting the car into drive the engine will rev but transmission doesn't engage, have to shut it off and start it and it runs fine. Also seems to hesitate sometimes while shifting. Annoying electrical problems: passenger window sometimes doesn't work from driver controls, intermittent problems with electric door locks, lighting air-conditioning controls has always been intermittently on and off. I love the Honda we bought a year after this car and now am buying a Toyota mini-van. Was I shocked when I wanted to trade this car. The car has 74,000 miles and some minor body damage. The dealer offered me $1000 and I laughed because the blue book wholesale value was $4550. I knew there would be a deduction for the damage but this seemed ridiculous. Since then two independent used car dealers each offered $1400. None of these even knew about the transmission. I am considering having some of the problems fixed and trying private party, but after reading other reviews I think I will take the $1400 and run!

Nice looking car. Good sound system.

Weakness:

Road noise. Noise in frontend (driver's side.

I purchased this car 3 years ago. 18 months after the purchase we started hearing a noise on the driver's side in the front end. We took the car in but they where unable to hear the noise & said they could not help us. We left & heard the noise again & went back. They said they could fix it. 18 months later & 4 services later. Services from struts, swaybars, lower control arms, & several other parts. They have not fixed the problem but tell me they have. I just hear new noises (they say). Everytime you hit a bump (generally more common when it is warm) you hear the noise. I would not recommend this car.

Strength:

Looks great, has excellent interior room. Great sound systems, handles great, very stable even at high speeds, even in rain, snow, whatever. Good power for small V-6 engine and excellent gas mileage.

Weakness:

Very noisy engine, lots of wind noise. Makes strange noises from front when turning , going over bumps. Lots of rattles from engine compartment. Brakes replaced every 10-15,000 miles.

I bought this car brand new. It had 11 miles on it. I have had the following proplems. I bet you have too. It was great for the first year. The a/c compressor went at 36,000 miles. It was replaced twice. The fuel pump went soon after. Then the rack & pinion (power steering) was next. This I got Chrysler to pay for half. I still was stuck for $800.00 The a/c fan speed switch has gone out 3-time. The check engine light has always come on and off for years. It sometimes stays on for weeks. It has a problem with the right rear stablizer bar. It has broken twice. I have cared for this car with the upmost detail. It did not matter. This is the last Chrysler product I will ever purchase. And I have had several. The car now has 110,000 miles on it and the transmission is starting to act up. Gee what a surprise! I cannot even trade this car in. Dealers laugh, and offered $1800.00 what a joke. I have learned my lesson. It's all about Honda & Toyota from here on out.
