Strength:

Great looks. The last of the truely beautiful shapes. Actually a 2 door "personal luxury car" instead of a 4 door. Great performance and handling. Runs 15.70s @ 90 mph in the quarter mile. 28 mpg highway.

Weakness:

Annoying one second delay between mashing the throttle (at highway speed) and the car actually doing something. Drivers side window may not roll down on demand. Starts working again the next day.

Best car I ever owned. With 71K miles, It has never been in the shop for unscheduled maintenance. However I must say I do all scheduled maintenance myself plus some ahead of schedule preventive maintenance most people would not do.

Strength:

Aerodynamic body structure of the car that gives it that futuristic look. Comfort, great looking dashboard, powerful supercharged engine, superb traction to prevent you from getting stuck in the snow, women love I`ts looks, and the fact that I`ts MAD MAX on the road when it comes to the concept of the car and I`ts design. The factory radio also looks attractive in the night as well as all the other components in the car. Sometimes I feel as if Im in an airplane because of I`ts luxurious good looks. I could care less about a corvette or porsche because those cars represent speed and not a whole lot about protection. The more metal you have in front of you the better your chances are for survival when it comes to a serious collision or accident. Parts for the maintenance are not that expensive unless electronics are involved, which is another reason why I bought this car because its american and foreign parts are always double the cost so its something to think about when it comes to your pocketbook.

Weakness:

The leather on the drivers seat tends to crack after years of usage but at least all the other seats tend to hold up to its looks. The same goes for the steering wheel but still not a big deal. The availability for parts that are discontinued is also an issue with me because I remember not being able to find a visor to match the color of my interior because it was discontinued. I had to come up with my own solution by buying a CD black case that affixes to the visor to cover the hole it had. The stereo looks great but for bass and industrial music like MEAT BEAT MANIFESTO you have to make an investment of at least 2,000 dollars to get the range of sound the riv deserves. Other than that the riv is all good! You just got give it love and constant care.

OK Overall the riv has been the best car I`ve ever driven compared to all the other cars I`ve had to drive. Put it this way I`ts the mach 5 I never had due to the cool stereo buttons on the steering wheel that give me the control I need to change the songs on my CD when I`m too lazy to stretch my arm out. Yeah I`ve had my problems with the car but repairs made up for it. The water pump, serpentine belts, brakes, window not wanting to go back up after paying the highway toll, especially under freezing conditions. All cars will always give you headaches but for some reason I dont mind when it comes to the RIV. The Buick Techs are the best mechanics I`ve ever seen to make up for the defaults of my car. The only thing that sucks is that you have to pay one-hundred dollars to the dealer just to have them inspect the car. Overall I`ts worth it in the end because the riv gives you a smooth ride and the speed you need to dust the show offs on the streets who think their s--t don`t stink.

Smooth ride Powerful engine Quick and fast for the weight of the car(3500pounds) Roomy, nice looking interior Everything else seems great, went 100mph on the freeway and probably handled like a sports car, if not smoother

Weakness:

None I can find

This car is great. I purchased it with a little over 140,000 miles and still drives like new. Comfortable leather seats, which are fully powered. Everything in the car seems to be powered. I love it. Can't think of anything bad except it seems to be a little hard looking for aftermarket parts. But it has a sporty look to it, which I love, yet the comfort of a luxury car

Comfort, Luxury Power, Speed....with silence. Concert Sound Temperature Control Cockpit feel Smooth ride Mirrors adjust automatically when reversing

Weakness:

Back seat does not fold down. Loose suspenion provides smooth ride, but worsens tight cornering To many buttons for simpletons to use (I like buttons) Lights are always on. I like to be able to turn them off (daylight running lights) American made cars still fail to guarantee their products like competitors do.

The many features make the Riviera a luxerous ride...that can beat an Accord, Civic, or Corolla S in a one block race (1/4 mi?). Once that Supercharger kicks in its all over, I rarely have to wind up past 3k rpm to dust most people. And your passengers in their comfortable leather seats usually fail to notice you just smoked a rice-burner on the green light. You usually have to cruise around 90 for your passengers to notice you happen to be travelling rather fast. The rear-passengers (under 6') have plenty of room, with comfortable seats.

Strength:

It has a pretty gutsy engine, but I was expecting more. Leather seats are comfortable, but I dont want a car to just make my ass feel good.

Weakness:

Sound system is weak. Engine needs more juice. Already changed the fuel pump, fan belts, and alternator. Next on the list is the transmission because its shot too. Rather drive a Honda or Nissan.

This car is a big piece of junk. My 2000 Honda Accord V6 kicks the crap outta it. And my 350Z is one in a million in comparison to the Buick. Buick did some things right with this car, the seats and and quietness of the engine but that is all. I would rather drive a japanese car ANYDAY.

Supercharged power. Puts you back in the seat when you stomp on it. Great mileage for such an engine. We got 33mpg at 80mph on all three trips to Vegas.

Weakness:

None that I'm aware of. Only normal maintenance so far and it has 70000 on it.

Buick should bring this car back. What a prize posession it has been. My wife thought it was an "old folks" car until she frove it. She loves it. Great looks.
