somewhat comfortable, if you like driving a couch

Weakness:

brakes, handles like a couch on wheels, gas mileage, shakes every chance it gets.

Worst piece of S*** that I've ever driven. GM should hang it's head in shame. I feel bad for anyone who would actually pay for one of these.

Strength:

Very comfortable. Effortless cruising and passing. Gas mileage is better than EPA ratings. Very quiet. Handles very well. Lots of passenger and trunk room.

Weakness:

Original equipment General) tires on car could be better. I replaced tires and "trued" them; now, the car rides like it is on glass - VERY SMOOTH!

This is a TERRIFIC road car. It cruises effortlessly and quietly, and is very, very comfortable on long trips. We've been across country twice, and made three other long trips, and this car cannot be beat. Not one rattle or squeak in 46,000 miles, and no problems mechanically. My wife loves this car too.

Their big, fairly comfortable, ride nice.

Expect to buy a transmission. Gas mileage sucks. You'd think after this many years these SOBs could build an engine that was economical. I think buick has lost it. I bought my last American made vehicle. Join me and go buy a Japenese car.

If you want a review on buicks talk to me, I've owned five, but I bought my last one. I purchased a 1983 new, and drove it for ten years, I got 160,000 miles out of it, but put in a tranny. I still have a 1994 century, bought it used at 50,000 miles. I dropped a tranny in this one to, I still have it, but I've bought my share of parts. I bought a 1994 LaSabre, the big body style. This was a tank. I bought it at 50,000 miles and drove it to well over 200K, I then bought another LaSabre, a 1995, also a 3800 engine. This one pisses me off. One door doesn't open. The hood latch is difficult to operate, You have to hit the side of the hood to get it to pop. The tranny is skipping, the engine went at 100K. All the gaskets went at the same time. I'm no fool, I've studied mechanics, I change oil every 2500 miles with filters, it never burned a drop, then just like that the gaskets leaked like a sieve and ruined the engine. This is a deliberate engineered design failure. I'm stuck with this piece of _____, and I'll drive it till it drops, but I know I'm going to be buying another transmission.

The worst vehicle I've ever owned was a 1995 dodge neon, unless you love putting in parts. Don't buy one of those.

Strength:

Awesome acceleration, comfortable seats. Radio and climate controls on the wheel. Leather seats. Smooth ride. Powers mirrors, seats, windows and locks. Passenger Climate Controls. Heater takes 5 minutes to warm up.

Weakness:

Wind resistance and noise on the highway. A little low to the ground, but its tolerable.

I absolutely love my buick. It's the first buick I have ever owned but our family has owned many. All i hear is how reliable the engines are in them. The only thing i have needed to do to my vehicle is put gas in it. The engine is a truly awesome machine. The acceleration is unbelieveable, and people think Buick's are slow...HA! My friend has a turbocharged 1992 All Wheel Drive Plymouth Laser and his car stands no chance against mine, he loses race after race. I have yet to lose a race. My grandfather said the comfort level is greater than his 2001 Lincoln Continental. Buick did an excellent job desingning this vehicle, I look forward to owning it for a very long time.

Strength:

Big car, fit all of my stuff for my move in it. Nice, BIG engine, when it decides to run.

Weakness:

BUICK MAKES CRAP FOR TRANSMISSIONS!!! The brakes go relatively quickly since it's so heavy. For having so much space under the hood, everything's sort of twisted and crammed in there, making it hard to repair yourself without taking apart more than you should need to (I had to disconnect the radiator hose, which meant flushing my radiator and refilling it, just to change my fuel filter). um... oh, yah; DOESN'T RUN!!!

NO BUENO! I got this car from my grandma in September. She took GREAT care of her car, kept all the records, oil change EVERY 3k, did EVERYTHING to keep the car up. I got it at 103,000 miles, and drove it from Roswell, NM to Denver, CO. It drove pretty well with no real problems for about a month and a half. Then the tranny started slipping, and the whole car just fell apart. I had another (used) tranny installed, then it needed a spark plug change. Then, it was having trouble starting, or having trouble staying alive when I was driving it! I changed out the fuel filter AND the fuel pump, and it's still giving me grief. Only 105,000 and it's dead as of now. As soon as I get it running, I'm trading it in to a dealership for a Honda CRX.

Strength:

Fuel mileage, good traction in snow, safe feeling vehicle, smooth 3.8L engine and tranny

Weakness:

Premature rust, unimpressive styling, lack of convenience items icluding cup holders (HOW &*?% RIDICULOUS and CHEAP!!!) , too soft suspension, seats are too soft and fabric durability is pretty poor, straight ahead steering requires driver attentiveness, soft brakes

Not too impressed with this LeSabre Custom I have had for two years except for gas mileage and roominess. Have replaced EGR, Pwr steering cooler and the too soft front struts. Test ride was impressively soft but I later found that hitting potholes and railway tracks even at slow speeds almost puts you through the roof. Mechanics told me that was the way the car is with regular suspension. After a year the struts wore out anyway and I replaced them with HD ones. It made a significant handling difference and I won't cry too much if I have to replace the rear shocks with hd ones.

I just admire this car. Absolutely the best car I have ever owned. real solid car, very reliable. I drive alot Specially to NYC and Chicago. the car is so comfy and solid that i drove more than once from Toronto to NYC NON STOP for rest or need to fill up gas (well except the boder checkpoint)! the car is so good with gas specially when on the cruise control. in 2 years now, I have put 85K on the car. nothing but oil changes and maintenance on time.

Strength:

good highway cruiser. Reasonable gas mileage for a full size car

Weakness:

poor quality as outlined in summary

Many minor repairs needed. Developed an expensive oil leak that cost about $500,can't see the heater control buttons any more at night time, key doesn't start the vehicle sometime you have to wait about 3 minutes before you can try it again due to some security malfunction. The horn only works intermittently, the power steering cooling unit rusted out, and the paint job is absolutely terrible. Another big complaint is the soft supsension. If you put 2 people in the back seat look out. You are likely to hit something with the tailpipe when you back up. Have bent the whole exhaust system many times by doing that. Won't buy another one.
