Strength:

I love the retractable hardtop. The power and handling. Superb handling on wet surfaces. Excellent braking.

Weakness:

Climate control needs improvement.

$48K. My husband bought the car for me as a christmas present. He had rented one for me on our anniversary and I fell in love with the way the car handled and the power. I have found myself getting frustrated with the other drivers on the freeways for driving so slow, but it's not until I look down at my speedometer and realize that I am driving 105 mile/hour. You can hardly tell how fast you are going.

I love the sound system. I have the phone and heated seats which are great as I am always cold. I love this car all those who have driven it want one. It is good value for the money and I strongly reccomend it to anyone. Mercedes makes one hell of a car. My husband drives it occasionaly and he is in love with it.

Strength:

Incredibly engineered top, solid top up chassis characteristics, beautiful finish and workmanship, easy to drive (for my wife), gourgeous interior.

Weakness:

A bit underpowered. Goofy climate controls.

I bought this car (2000 model Bahama Blue with AMG package, blacka nd white interior) for my wife's birthday. I do get to drive it quite a bit and it is a wonderful roadster. Its not a pure sports car like the Honda, or even the Porsche or BMW, but it looks so much better and I cannot afford one mor eticket anyway!

The AMG package gives it incredible grip, and I have taken it out for some serious spirited blasts -- a solid performer. Torquey, if slightly underpowered, it does enough. It really is a lovely piece of engineering and the top is so trick, it makes the car absolutely drivable anywhere, anytime. affordable too.

Strength:

Excellent appearance and smart package. Have white glacier color and the saulsa interior which is a neat contrast.
Auto transmission with the sport package but did not go for the heated seats (CA?) or the cell phone package.

Very impressive performance and is quicker than the new press reported.

Excellent 48 months/50,000 mile warranty which includes ALL services.

Weakness:

Interior is too restricted for comfortable mis items.

$46,400 including the Sport Package.

If a person is used to a firm suspension and somewhat limited interior room then they will find it VERY acceptable. The luggage area is not that small and can carry items of normal nature, such as groceries, etc.

Have not had ANY problems at all and will perform own oil change inbetween the "flexible service system" program.

Strength:

Retractable hardtop, Looks fast standing still, above average handling

Weakness:

Exhaust note sounds like a Ford escort, Cheaply done interior

41,600.00 The wife got tired of the 5 spd in the Z3 in heavy traffic. Auto transmission and engine performance is fine at cruising speed, not as good around town. Ride is excellent, much better than the Z3 and interior seems a little more roomy. Much better audio system. Would recommend for daily driving.

Strength:

The vario roof, available manual transmission, rear wheel drive. Car has great style and many handy little features.

Weakness:

Hard to get out of (narrow sill), traction light is too big and bright, tachometer hard to see. Manual shifter is notchy, not as good as Acura or BMW. No power seats (will be available 2001).

Paid 48,700 with sport kit, heated seats, phone/CD. Definately would recommend, it is a wonderful car. Make sure you get the heated seats, I never knew how much I would love them and use them. This is a well-executed version of a simple concept : everybody knows what a Mercedes is, everybody knows what a sports car is, this is a true Mercedes (comfort, quality, safety) sports car (quick, nimble, looks fast when sitting still). After four months I still love this car.

Boxster, BMW 328, Z3. Fast as a Boxster stick, faster than the others. Standard feature list very good, much nicer interior than the others.

Strength:

The Hardtop is awesome. The looks. The Handling. The interior. Stereo. Sport Package. Not TOO expensive.

Weakness:

Engine note. Our black paint is not good at hiding little marks. When you first start the car for the day (in automatic tranny) the car like jumps into gear, but it eventually goes away.

Yeah I would recommend it without a doubt it is a fun car too drive. The value could be lacking somewhat. But it is a great car to cruise and get chicks in!!!

Strength:

The retractable hardtop is a wonderful idea.

The styling is acceptable.

It's a very inexpensive Mercedes convertible.

Weakness:

The 4 cylinder provides adequate torque, but the exhaust note is pathetic at best.

This car seems like it was made for people who have to have a Mercedes convertible but can't afford the real thing. Mercedes cut many corners with the interior materials (cheap, cheap, cheap).

Sometimes the retractable top gets stuck.

We have the manual transmission and it can only be described as lethargic.

My wife and I purchased this car for our daughter who recently graduated from college.

I'm certain the car is safe, but I'm glad I don't have to drive it. The droning sounds produced by the engine are inexcusable in a car that retails for over 40k.

We live on Long Island and these cars are everywhere, truly the MB convertible for the person who doesn't want to spend the money on an SL.

The SLK makes many sporting pretensions, but can live up to none of them. The shifter is not very smooth and there is too much body roll for this car to be considered a sports car and the unpleasant sounds produced by the engine at highway speeds negate it's grand touring capabilities.

So, what is this car? It's a poseur's car created for young women and those who can't afford the SL.

This car offers very little of what made Mercedes famous.

Strength:

The only way to own a convertable in Seattle or any other urban area, for that matter.

Strong between 40 to 85 MPH.

Standard tranny is an improvement.

Looks great with 3 spoke wheels.

Weakness:

Some engine noise on the freeway.

Traction light distracting.

NO extra room in cab.

42K I'd buy it again!

Weakness:

No negatives of a convertable.

SLK 230 SPORT PACKAGE, $53,200. Without a doubt I would recommend this product. I havn't had any problems.
