G35x
Strength:
power, interior, overall luxury, and easy to drive.
Weakness:
small back seat, gas mileage for a V6 We just purchased the brand new 2007 G35x with all wheel drive. I was very surprised by the get up and go of this vehicle. With 306 horsepower in a small car, this car FLYS!. And did I mention the interior? Talk about luxury, the GPS and dashboard on this car is absolutly amazing. Also, the "Bose on Wheels" stereo system cannot be beaten. The sound is superb. The only thing I would change is the gas mileage. Right now it is getting 14 mpg on a V6! But that could be because the car only has 125 miles on it. Overall, great car!! |

-Engine, the pull in 6th gear at 65 is awesome!
Weakness:
Two things:
I wanted something to replace my aging Acura Legend, with the power of my 3000GT. The first question people always ask is, why did you get a sedan and not the coupe? For starters, why not? 298HP in a sedan? The luxury of having four doors instead of two? This isn't just some sedan. Like others have stated, its a 350Z with four doors! After testing out BMW's 330 and MBZ's e320/e350, getting into this car was a world of a difference. German cars are quite boring on the inside, they feel cheap for the amount of money paid. The Infiniti put my right at home with all the right technology. |

gas gas gas gas gas i love the car ,but the gas milelage is very bad. it's $3.00 a gallon in el paso texas. the seatbelts are hard to reach and the seatwarmers are on the center console insted of the side of the seat. and the last con is the leather seats get extremely dirty. i love the bose stero crisp and cleer even with the bass at +5. sunroof nice at night. power power power that car is. it has 300rwhp,6 speed, rwd, and 19 inch wheels. and the ero pkg makes the car that much sporty. |

Tranny
I bought this car as a replacement for my wife's '93 VW Corrado, which was a super fun car, albeit a bit quirky as it aged. Goods: The G35 coupe's strongest suit is it's looks. The car is gorgeous (although the 19 inch wheels could fill the fenders a bit better). It's relatively quick, handles well (much more fun with the VDC off), has decent brakes and is comfortable. The number of standard features for the money is also a strong point. We looked at the '06 BMW 330 (the coupes still aren't out, so we had to settle for an AT sedan), but we couldn't justify the extra cash, even with an overseas military discount.

Infiniti G35 6MT
Strength:
Power Shifter and 6MT Styling PRICE!
Weakness:
Gas mileage Some ergonomics For those considering this car, the 2005 G35 was made available in a six-speed manual, and HP was bumped up 298 (contrary to what this website indicates). I bought my G35 last month, and have been loving nearly everything about it! With the '06 models soon to arrive, I got a great bargain on an '05 - 6MT, Diamond Graphite ext. with black int. and premium package for $31K ($500 below invoice!). Many thanks to Troncalli, and Pierre. For prospective owners, it's important to mention that my previous car was an Integra GS-R; a fun car for sure, but a totally different class than the Infiniti. By comparison, of course the G35 seems like the greatest car ever, but it also stands out against the competition which I test drove. The first thing that struck me about the G35 was it's aggressive, but subtle exterior. The car looks powerful, but the styling is not contrived (like the TL). Having read some reviews, I was concerned about what I'd find INSIDE the cabin. Though I prefer the instrumentation on the A4 and 325i, the G35 still strikes a nice blend of sporty and sophisticated. The orange-lit instrument panel took some getting used to, but if you use the dimmer switch it becomes more bearable. The stereo and climate control buttoms are well designed, and positioned sensibly (as opposed to my old Integra which forced me to lean forward everytime I wanted to change the station). The power window buttons could be in a better place, but I like the 1-touch up/down for all 4 windows. There are two small glove boxes on the passenger side, and a third on the center console if you forgo the nav system (great for wallet and cell). The boxes aren't huge, but leave plenty of room for manuals and folding maps (my big Road Atlas fits fine in the map pockets on the driver and passenger seats). The leather inside is nice, and the seats are firm and comfortable, though I would have liked more lateral support thigh and torso support for fast, curvy driving. The aluminum trim looks good (not cheap) and adds to the sense that you're in a sports car. Wood trim is also available. Features abound with the premium package, and I've really enjoyed the 8-way power seats and tilt/telescope wheel as I work to find my ideal position before locking it into the memory seating (where's the lumbar support tohugh?). Even the back seats recline! Overall, the redesigned interior from '04 or '05 was a big upgrade. I've heard complaints about the stereo, but the Premium pkg. gives you an upgraded Bose system. The bass is tight and powerful, though the vocals and mid tones do sometimes get lost. Still, a strong system that does justice to Johhny Cash, the White Stripes, and all bands in between. But, of course, the best part of the car is the driving. Oh, the driving! I've driven it in the city (I live in Atlanta), the suburban hills, and a 400 mile road trip to Virginia, and it invigorates each time! What sets this car apart is it's big V6 and RWD. No annoying turbo-lag like in the A4 or 9-3, this engine delivers power on demand. The feel and sound are amazing, and the short-throw 6MT lets you race through the gears, delivering you to 90mph and beyond in no time. For pure power, this car was by FAR the best I drove. Off the line, it's like lightning (0-60 in 5.8), and even in 6th gear at 80mph, you can still get around the Mack Trucks in no time. Handling is execellent as well. You can slice into turns, and rocket out of them thanks to the RWD and the smooth transmission. I will say the BMW handled better than the G35, but the superior power and price of the Infiniti will console you! Braking is smooth and confident. As I was getting used to the new car, I went into a few turns too fast, but the G35 bailed me out. What else to say? I love the car. Big, beautiful 18inch wheels (6MT only), large trunk with cargo net, xenon headlights, integrated fog lamps, giant sunroof . . . the car has it all, and most of it is standard! The gas mileage is poor, the cupholders are small and the key fob looks like it belongs with a Taurus, but beyond that, I don't have many complaints. In the first 1000 miles there was a problem with the vapor lock on the gas tank - The sales manager came by my house, picked up the car, dropped off a loaner, and had my car repaired and returned the same day! Customer service has been excellent, the sales experience was a pleasure and I can't wait to log some more miles. Similar Products Used: Audi A4 Saab 9-3 BMW 325i Acura TSX and TL |

G35 6MT Sedan
Strength:
Power on tap at all times, in every gear. Fabulous Brakes (better than Lamborghini Murcielago!) Excellent Handling Unique and Sexy styling Quiet and aerodynamic Has the look, and delivers the goods
Weakness:
Bose stereo not clear/sharp in midrange Some interior materials not quite in the "luxury" class. Many complaints about driver's seat controls placement (not me). Paint quality not as good as expected. Some minor problems with early models This is a rear wheel drive performance sedan with few peers in it's price class. Based upon the FM platform of the Nissan 350Z sports car, with the exact same engine, transmission, and rear differential it's the 4-Door "Z"!! Excellent handling, braking, and acceleration. Unique looks, stylish yet aggressive. Rated as a near luxury class car, some people complain about the quality of interior materials for a car in this class, but one fast trip down a curvy mountain road and you'll know where they spent the dollar$$ Bose stereo weak in the midrange, 6-speed manual with Limited Slip Differential is the bomb! Gear ratios are perfectly spaced, short throw shifter for quick shifts, transmission not as smooth as many competitors. A very powerful 4 door sedan with superb handling and brakes that cannot be matched! This car will allow you to run with most of the big dogs, at a price where you usually have to stay on the porch !! Have over 8,000 miles since March, 2004 purchase date. A few long trips at high speeds netted 23+ MPG, running 85-95 MPH for long periods of time. Overall mileage of my 6-speed manual has been 23-24 MPG, with a 50%/50% mix of suburban and urban driving. Very Internet friendly website and purchasing procedure - made my deal on the internet, have every option (Sport Package, Premium Package, Navigation Package, Aero Package), and paid $50 under factory to dealer invoice with the Internet rebate special they had ion March, 2004 (over $5,000 under MSRP) - and this for a very hard to find 6-Speed manual loaded sedan. Make no mistake, this is a serious sports sedan, especially in the 6-speed manual configuration. I'd buy this car again in a flash, and I'd pay MSRP if I had to - it's that good! Weakness:
Likes the gas. Since I purchased first year, AWD model not available. Not good in Western NY. Seat heater ctl positioned in bad location (accidentally turn on all the time). Great car. Definitly sets itself apart from the competition. I searched around quite a bit before buying and was able to find my exact car online before I ever called the dealer. Car is attractive, has lots of power and since I got it loaded (minus $2k GPS), I am satisfied with all bells and whistles. Similar Products Used: BMW 3 series. |

Accceleration makes you feel powerful. Steering and handling, ok on Gas. Interior is comfortable and mechanics are reliable.
Weakness:
Trunk space could be a little bigger, but still ok. This car drives like a dream come true. I have in my drive way the lexus GS 300 and the Nissan Maxima...both beautiful cars...but the Infiniti G35 is like butter melting. I've been driving it ever since I got it...and the ladies break their neck watching me burn turns like nothing. The acceleration is divine, and the adrenaline you feel from being behind such smooth power is exhilarating. The comfort is fit for royalty...and it's streamline design has every thing practically at your fingertips. The navigation system is sexy. And the leather interior really does make an impression with the passengers who get in...they say..." wow this is really nice" and I'm like...."yea I know". BUY THIS RIDE...it has attracting powers. MY Diamond stereo system, amp and speakers
Weakness:
Bose system is biggest issue for me. I replaced all but sub-woofer and head unit almost immediately. No auto seat adjustment with manual (unless I missed something). I cannot say enough about how pleased I am with my G35. I almost erred, and purchased the automatic version. Thank G-d I didn't. The manual is heavenly. I tend to be picky about the little things. I would do it all over again. I truly love my car. I have found that many reviews complain about the radio and heat/ac controls locations, as well as the seat adjustment controls. Once you start to drive the car all makes perfect sense. With your hand resting on the stick point your finger straight ahead. It points to the power button for the radio, just as it should. The seat controls could NOT be in a smarter location. No more sticking your hand between the seat and door. My only regret is that the AWD version was not out when I bought my car. Looking to buy? Call either Ken Jones at Nationwide in Maryland or Alex Wickham at Winner in Delaware. Both great to work with. I bought the car from one, the warranty from the other. I trusted both of them. I did not feel the same about others I worked with while shopping for my car. Similar Products Used: Lexus ES 300 Acura TL-S Acura MDX Lexus RX330 |
