I like the sound system, the heated seats, the "beep" when something's behind you when you're backing, the fast pick-up, the smooth as silk ride, the gas mileage and the lumbar "pillow." At 18mpg in town it's a good value for the luxurious ride. I like the way the seatbelts pull out at shoulder level instead of up nearer the ceiling. It is such a pleasure to drive.

I do not care for the way you have to install your CD's in a magazine between the front seats. I almost need a magnifying glass to get the job done. It takes some practice to switch from radio to the CD's; I've not mastered that chore yet! Plus, I couldn't find it in the drivers' manual. You are supposed to add a quart of oil every thousand miles, too. Or, you have to. There is a blockage of your view on each end of the windshield which could pose a problem. The horn needs quite a firm push to activate. There is a slight hesitation on the a/c on the fan speeds. I cannot get the windows to go down just halfway.

This is a very fine automobile. Floats down the road; fast, too! I cannot find the word, "Cadillac" anywhere on the outside of the car which is strange. It just has the insignia on the back and Northstar in small letters. It does Not vibrate at 60 mph; rides great. This came with the Symmetry tires. It's about as perfect a car as I could hope to own.

Even for an 11-year-old vehicle, the Bose stereo/other toys/widgets/switches are still super-luxe and very slick. One of my favorite things is the headlights--the low beams are very wide and crisp, but the high beams are even bigger.I love the nighttime-adjusting photosensitive rear view mirror. Great for eliminating glare from all those SUVs that have to shine their 18 headlights right at the back of your scalp. I hear they're hard to replace, though. This car has saved my life several times. Big, powerful, fast, gets out of its own way, and is designed for safety and comfort of the driver.

The car seems to eat batteries. It's gone through several in the last few years, and while the computerized scanners at the dealership didn't notice any electrical problems, I'm wary of it. Additionally, the fuel pump had to be replaced recently and there were several sensor problems. Also, the traction control is terrible--my dad actually ripped out the antilock/traction fuse because you can't get past a snowdrift if traction is engaged. Difficult to park--there seems to be no turning radius at all. If you corner too tight, the power steering seems to throw up its little hands and give up. Try backing out and pulling in again. The torque steer is a little scary, especially when you find yourself in a situation where you HAVE to accelerate fast (New Jersey traffic.) Other quirks: one of the left turn signal bulbs keeps burning out. I've replaced it at least three times in half a year. Also the cupholders are utterly miserable. The power-close feature on the trunk drives me nuts. Also, the digital display can be hard to read on a sunny day.

High-mileage 1993 STS, with the Northstar V8. Great handling even for the age of the vehicle--still gets good pickup and the engine sounds great when you accelerate. This car can MOVE! I have it in a sparkly plum color with a grey interior. If I drive "nice" I can get 27-28MPG highway, which is FANTASTIC for the size of the vehicle and its gigantic engine. This car has needed some maintenance a few times over the past few years, but overall I've been happy. It's got about 130,000 miles on it, and it's itching for more.

My mother has a '99 STS and I'm jealous.

Overall ride is great. My car has the ultra-soft rode option which is great for long highway rides but hampers handling a bit. Back seat room is WAY more than comparable cars including newer Sevilles/STS.. Now has 54K miles and runs great. Very good looking car.

AC Compressor crapped out a few thousand miles ago cost about $400. Engine stopped on occassion when stopped in heavy traffic and teh oil consumption was a minor issue. Still really no problems from 15K miles to 54K.

Overall incredible value. I purchased the car with 15,000 miles on it from a private party. Has almost all the options.

Cost to repair, unreliable, depreciation, Northstar eats oil(as designed).

Have had this car since '00. Had to replace the rear ABS harness ($1200), both trunk taillights ($520), main computer ($1500). Now the upper gear has left me creating a serios gas guzzler. This car has cost me more in 3 years than my 94 Concorde in 10 years. Eats oil at a rate of 1 quart every 730 miles. At a 5000 mile oil change (highway driving only) the resevoir is empty. Synthetic disappears as fast as standard grade oil. It will be my last Cadillac because I refuse to pay the garage visits on a monthly basis. Now I'm looking to wash my hands of this nightmare and find a place to lick my wounds. Pitiful for the American standard. Time to look at a Hyundai, OOOOCH!

the problem it is giving me, and the controls for the information and the controls for the climate control are behind the steering wheel kind of getting blocked out of view.

i bought my car and it had no troubles and everything worked but the drivers side heated seat. however just the other day i drove my car into town and it ran smooth and strong. i then went to my friends house for a while and when i went to leave, my car would not start at all yet everything else got power like the lights and the seats. i would not even get a click from the starter. i checked the onboard information display, thinking for some reason i didn't have enough juice to start the car but it had plenty of juice. if anybody reads this and has an aswer why my car did this please e-mail me at fordfan891978@yahoo.com (i had this address before i got my caddy).

Ride, handling, sound system, wipers, high speed performance.

Not really any that I have encountered, other than the aforementioned oil consumption.

I have had both a 95 and this 99 Seville. Both cars have been worth every dime I spent on them. Ride is good, handling is excellent. '95 had much more acceleration at spped than does the 99 but what can ou do. At high speeds both of the cars stick to the road very well and steering cornering are excellent. Used to drive the '95 @ 110 to 120 mph (Montana)and I do not think you could ask for better handling. It seems that the faster you go the better they handle. Never really had any problems with either car. You do have to keep an eye on the dipstick as they do burn some oil. Just a characteristic fo the engine (no big deal, right?). Car is comfortable, fairly roomy trunk (gotta have room for the clubs, right?). Nice sound system. Only thing that bugs me is that after I have gone thru the car wash the windows come up wet when lowered and raised. Maybe this is true on any car, don't know. Occasionally (three or four times) I have gotten error code 303 which, after a few hours, seems to vanish. (Aliens?). Maybe the FBI is tracking my car...LOL! Front wheel drive is must MUST where I live, Minnesota. Caddy's is great, as is the traction control and the stabilization features. I only wish the thing would shovel the drive way!! Hey Cadillac, here's an idea for you! : ) Would not hesitate to buy another one.

Strong car like almost any if maintained. Great Acceleration, good handling, luxurious leather int. Head turner at stoplights, especially when clean. American made always a plus.

Front end problems big time! Recently replaced the stabilizer pin to the tune of 220. Gas Economy could be better but back when this model year was out, gas wasn't all that expensive.

Overall the Seville is a good car however the parts are very expensive to replace if you can find any at all. Need to replace a side mirror? That will cost you 280+. Computer goes out? Give it up! I have always liked this car from afar but actually owning one is a whole new ballgame. Sure it's got a great ride and is still stylish today even if it's an 11 year old car but, when you have 2, count em', 2 different Cadillac DEALERS who dont know what the Service Ride Control warning light means, then it's a bad thing. My heat recently went haywire on a very cold day. (One side blows cold one side blows hot) One dealer tells me its the actuator that regulates the heat disbursement in the car......hmmm, I thought the actuator controls the engine idle speed..wouldnt my problem be the heater control valve?..Sorry, in short the Cad Seville is a great car if you can find an honest repair shop and can afford to get repairs.

Lots of toys (most of which you don't need), looks good inside and out! (that's whay I bought it in a first place), lots of power - 300HP engine.

Lots of weak spots... For last six months I was having problem, which no dealers can fix! Car was just quits working on me, while you driving! All interior lights, including the whole dash just turns off and engine dies. Imagine you driving on HWY @ 65 MPH, and your car dies on you. You can't even turn the wheel to pool over, because once it dies, all car's electric pars are dead. Dealers couldn't find what is wrong whith this car. When they take it for a test drive it work's O.K. . And their computer tells no errors where found, which could narrow them to the problem. Plus, I guess they dont want to thing logically, just trusting the computer. Some times, I can't start the car in the morning, because after I tupn ignition key, the car still be dead, with black dash! Plus vibration @ 65-70MPH, and now some of the valves missworking so bad, that it shake the car!

I will never ever buy any of Cadillac cars, as GM doesn't take care of their customers at all (see bellow). Total waste of money ($18.000 + waranty + tax).
