Strength:
mpg comfortable to drive...I am 5'9 with very long legs.
Weakness:
Can't drive in bad weather
I like this car except that I never drive it in rainy/windy weather as I too have gone clear across 3 lanes with luckily no cars around as I had no control..at all. This is a second car, I drive an Infinity qx56 and use this Yaris to commute to work. I get 42-44mpg consistently..amazing.....but please be careful in bad weather with this car! |

great gas saver.
Weakness:
this is the most dangerous car I have ever driven. I am currently driving a Yaris hatchback and after my commute home today I felt compelled to post a SAFETY RED ALERT....I repeat....SAFETY RED ALERT!!!!!! I am all for small cars and getting really good gas mileage but not at the cost of my life. I have driven this car in moderate to heavy rain twice now and will absolutely never do it again. The car hydro-planes terribly and should never be driven by an inexperienced driver. I actually feel lucky to be alive. I'm not going to ramble here but had to make it clear how dangerous this car is. I love small cars...I have a Miata as a second car and am used to driving that in heavy traffic...heavy rain...so it's not the fact that I am not accustomed to small cars...it's just that dangerous....I guess I will have to ramble a bit more...My speed ranged from 30 to 45 mph in moderate to heavy rain and at one point the front wheels left the pavement causing the speedometer to surge to 80 mph...this car does not have traction control...later models may have that standard....still not enough in my book!

Green, basic & uncomplicated, it's a fun & responsible car.
Weakness:
It's no SUV so size of cargo can be an issue however I've avoided this w/a little planning & forethought. I love this car, best 1 amongst the 3. I looked seriously @ all 3 & landed on the '08 Yaris-2 door. Basic, utilitarian, comfortable & the greenest of the 3. Similar Products Used: 2000 VW Bug TDI, 2005 Jeep Wrangler, Civic. |

Yaris, 4 door sedan AT
Strength:
gas mileage, no blind spots, handles well, looks great, runs perfect
Weakness:
mild cab noise, a/c makes engine rattle, needs more storage compartments. Gosh, I love this car. I have had this car since Feb 2007 and it's been wonderful. I'm no expert, I'm your average 40 year old single woman. I drive 8 mi one way to work, 14 mi one way to church, around town, nothing exciting. I usually buy and drive a 2-door coupe with a manual transmission, but this time decided to "grow up" and get an automatic 4-door. I've had Hondas (civic, prelude) mostly in the past, but also a VW. But this was my first brand new Toyota. Honestly, I've never been happier with a car. I have not had one problem mechanically. It runs like a top! I do get regular oil changes and keep her in good shape (tires inflated, washed every week, etc.) and seriously have not had one problem or complaint with how she runs or rides.

Fun drive, handles well, roomy for a small car, looks great..excellent gas mileage and it is a Toyota!
Weakness:
Would be nice to have options. I will be adding keyless entry, cruise and sun roof. But lack of options keeps the price down. This is a great little car. I enjoy driving it and the ride is very comfortable. MPG was 38.87 with my second tank of gas. Not to bad. I love my Yaris. Similar Products Used: Other toyotas |

Good handling, ebds brake system, airbags,Gas mileage, comfy, looks sporty.
Weakness:
too much money left over from not paying for gas... Everybody i know loves this car! my friends always want a ride! it has a fresh feel to it thats different from other cars and is quite good on the highway, i've gotten the mileage up to 42mpg before! it has no problem accelerating onto merge ramps either. Despite it's size i feel incredibly safe in it, it fits four people very comfortably, and was worth the money. |

Strength:
The Yaris has that quality Toyota look, style and performance. It is awesome on gas and is a stylish, quick little car. For it's size it really has decent interior and trunk space. I drove the car to Manhattan, NY and it zipped through all that traffic with ease. I have a standard so automatic models might not drive the same. I got the model with cuise control and power locks and windows.
Weakness:
My interior is black so this might be why but every little particle shows up on the seats making it appear dusty and dirty even after I just cleaned it. The clutch took a little getting used to. The car seemed to have a hard time going from stop to 1st. The pedal is very touchie. You're either not pushing down hard enough or flooring it. Took some getting used to. Speakers keep going in and out in the front of the car. I really like this car. I was reluctant at first to buy a vehicle that was considered a economy type car but it has proven itself to be a great automobile. A little slow, but if you are looking for a sports car, you are looking at the wrong car. A great car. It has served me well. It did very well in the snow this winter. It is a nice looking car inside and out. I would recommend it to anyone. |

Yaris Sedan
Strength:
Satisfactory acceleration (I have stick-shift), and decent handling. The steering radius is very impressive. I can do a full u-turn on a suburban street. Very easy to find the right parking spot. It really does get 40+ mpg.
Weakness:
Leg room is an adjustment (I'm 6"2), the display is in the center dash, not behind the steering wheel. It takes some geeting used to, but you're not straining you neck to see it, and the steering wheel can't obstruct the view. Does get a little shaky in high winds. As the replacement for the unloved Toyota Echo, the Yaris looks stylish and well proportioned. It comes in two models; "Liftback" (actually a Hatchback), sedan, and sports sedan with rear spoiler and optional 15' alluminum alloy rims. (The standard rims are 14').

Strength:
40+ MPG around town without the A/C on. 39 around town with A/C on. Price.
Weakness:
Poor off the immediate line, meaning it has poor torgue to get it rolling. Sometimes the car will near stall (I've driven standards for 30+ years, from VW Beetles w/ 36hp to BMWs w/ 200hp). Car (passengers) might not do well in a crash. Built well, but not too much to it. 2007 5 speed 4cyl Yaris. This is a well built car, especially considering the price. Sound proofing is very good. Handling is reasonable. Finish is very good as is fit. Options: Electric Windows, Tach, Cruise. Not a speed demon, but it will easily hit 100mph and then some eventually. Why it's considered a 2007 is anyone's guess especially since I bought it in April 2006. Similar Products Used: Pontiac 5 speed 4cyl Sunfire. Similar mileage (35 -37). Seems more solid. |
