Summary: It took less than 24 hours for something to go wrong on my Tiburon. And it's just been a series of problems since.
On Day 2 of owning the car, I noticed the alignment was out of whack. I took it to service, and the toe was found to be out of spec.
In the meantime, I had noticed a rattling when the sunroof was open. I thought maybe this would go away after the first one or two times open. It just got worse. The day before I was scheduled to have that repaired, my low tire pressure indicator light went on.
The sunroof was found to be a manufacturer's defect. The tires were low on pressure. AFTER JUST 2 and 1/2 weeks?! Are you kidding me?
This is the absolute WORST car I have ever driven. Given all the problems I've had so far, I have ZERO confidence in this vehicle and certainly would not trust it on any long trips.
Three weeks in, only one phrase could sum up this new-car experience: A complete disaster.
Strengths: Decent in handling when making tight passing maneuvers
Weaknesses: Seems structurally flimsy (i.e., sunroof problem), lots of engine lag in the shifting, poor acceleration off the line for a V6 standard

Summary: I absolutely love this car!!! I haven't had it even a month yet, so I'm sure this is a blindingly bias, rose-colored-glasses look at the car, but I could not be more happy with my purchase! This car just feels solid. It's a base model GT with a the V-6. Can you say "TORQUE"? I heard people dog the 6 for "only" having 170hp, but that stat is misleading. It has a ton of torque and it's geared really aggressively. I don't really care about 0-60 times (when does that ever come in handy in real life?), this car gets off the line FAST and passing power is plentiful. The handling on this car is tight, crisp, and controled. The steering has a very nice level of feedback. The brakes are good (I haven't had to stomp on them yet, but they seem up to the task). The clutch is a bit dull, but I'm still new to it, so it may take a little while to get the feel completely. Now, the important stuff: this car simply looks gorgeous. Just try to go anywhere and not turn heads! I honestly don't think there is a better looking car on the road for even twice the price. The lines are really smooth, and the updated front spoiler looks fantastic. The 17" alloys fill the wells really nice and the low profile tires have a good deal of bite. The interior is very comfortable. I really like the "sport grip" seating surface with the leather bolsters. The red stitching and metal accents make for a very well laid out and eye-pleasing interior. The seats are very comfortable for long trips (I drove out to the coast and back, which was about a 4 hour round trip), and they really hug you on the turns. All the controls feel very well laid out and within easy reach. Plus, chicks dig orange illuminate gauges!
Insurance is costly, but that's to be expected with a sports car. It does guzzle gas, but the pain you feel at the pump is easily out-weighed by the pleasure you feel when you push down on that accelerator.
BOTTOM LINE: As far as bang for the buck, this car is the hands-down champ. I highly recommend this car if you're looking for something sporty, fun, solid, and fast, you owe it to yourself to test drive the Hyundai Tiburon (just make sure you drive the V-6, trust me, you won't be sorry).
Strengths: Power, performance, styling, fun. You name it!
Weaknesses: Maybe the clutch. Milage isn't fantastic, but it's a heckuva lotta fun getting bad milage in this car!

Summary: Cheap price finding cheap car. Don't let the warranty fool you. They don't stand behind their product. Paint real cheap anything gets on your paint job the paint is gone. Bird droppings a major. Takes the paint right off the car told to expect this from the dealer they won't fix it. Have had many different new cars and have never had this happen before. Hyundia said not covered under warranty under it is an act of god. They really covered themselves with that clause also claim it is covered by the fallout idustrial, chemical exception don't get that but that is the Hyundia service lines stand. Told by dealer they have alot of Hyundia's in because of bird dropping eating the paint job not just the Tiburon and they won't pay to fix the problem. So if you want a new car that you need to pay to have repaint in the first 3 months go for it. Sunroof tends to rattle. Leather looks nice new but beginning to think leather real thin and not going to hold up long under use. Ignition also sticks so have to fight to start car at times. Has done this since 2 day of ownership
Strengths: speed and power, 6 speed V6
Weaknesses: paint job, gear shift top wobbles, thin leather, rattling sunroof subwoof can't even tell it is there

Summary: I have owned my 2004, silver,V6 automatic for two months and love it !
The Tiburon represents an opportunity to purchase a very stylish, indidividual and excellent value touring car. It is loaded with all the goodies: sunroof, power windows, locks, tilt etc, that make cruising a pleasure.
The engine has super torque, and whilst no super racer, is a beatiful beast and road tamer nonetheless. If your purpose is to enjoy your ride and not count the merits in terms of race stats, this is a great choice.
The interior build quality is ahead of class. It attracts approving glances wherever you go.
Strengths: Value
Reliability
Warranty
Exterior design
Interior design - less is more. When seated in it, you feel like your are wearing it. Kewl!
Engine Torque
Build Quality
Weaknesses: Ride a bit too firm
Hatch rattles, but not a great problem
