So far I give this car a poitive review. Have had it for a month and am very impressed. Poor mpg but thats to be expected by a large luxury crossover with a large, beautiful V8 engine and 320 HP

Strength:

This car is a perfect crossover vehicle. I can tow my pop up camper and my 18 ft. both with ease. All wheel drive is great in winter and bad weather driving. Third row seat is tiny but comes in very handy when hauling teenagers or kids about town. It is not a place you want to try to stick an adult for a trip. The electric mechanism is a wonder to watch. This wagon drives and handles like a Euro sedan and I know because I have owned four BMW's. Flat in the curves...amazing handling and control for a wagon.

Weakness:

Fuel mileage should be better in my opinion. I had to spend $950 repairing the sunroof because somethine came loose and it ruined the motor. I expected this when I bought the car. It is the world's largest production sunroof and I knew it wouldn't last forever. There is a whine in the drive train at 70MPH and always has been but I think it is due to the extra hardware required for AWD. Not a big deal.

This is an outstanding all purpose vehicle. I bought it as a dealer demo with 2500 miles on it. I have owned the car for 3 and one half years and just turned 82,000 miles for those of you wondering about longevity of this car. I average about 19.8 MPG in combined city/hwy driving and always have. I can get about 22 on an extended trip. I have the V6 with the third row seat. I was able to get this car at 10K off the sticker because the dealer had trouble moving it without nav pkg and XM built in. I bought an XM radio and a GPS and saved a bundle.

Second SRX - had an '05 with same drive train. Love the cars, but the '08 gets considerably lower gas mileage with the same 3.6L V6, 5-spd, AWD setup. No explanation or help from dealer. Cadillac says I should get the same as my '05!

Strength:

Roomy interior, agility in handling

Weakness:

6 speed transmissions shifts constantly, at the slightest acceleration it is down shifting. Design of the back up warning is virtually useless. Car is not very "user friendly" I have actually taken the owner's manual on lunch breaks to try and figure out how to use features. Cadillac is WAY off on estimated gas mileage. All my driving is open highway driving and the very best this car has done is 17 mph. Car is still at the service department trying to figure out why it losses power and shifts so often, so far they are telling me this is how this car performs.

Was looking for a luxury smaller SUV,liked the looks and room on the interior. Had the car for 2 months has been at the dealer for 3 weeks of that two months.

Strength:

I was able to block a Mercedes car from getting in front of me on the highway with the v-8 power. The touch screen navigation is pretty easy to use and upgradable. Radio is already set up for xm radio. One touch buttons for sun roof and windows. Back windows go all the way down. Back seat fold out of way to allow access to the far rear seats. Far rear seats fold into the car for more cargo room with a button pressed. (No seats to remove) My 4 month nephew was able to get strapped in with ease. Multiple car seat hooks. Duel exhaust. Duel climate control with solar load sensors to keep a consistent temperature inside vehicle. An air filter for inside the cabin of the car. Powerful defrost and air flow through the vents. Very quiet fan for cooling the radiator. Very bright L.E.D. tail lights. The car can be tailered to you.

Weakness:

Hard to see whats behind you when backing up thank God for the sonar warning. If you plan to do your own servicing on it Buy The Service Book! Can't play in-dash dvd movies while driving so the back seat passengers can watch. Only if you have optional dvd player and screen. Gas Cap is located on passenger side of vehicle. Car won't shift out of red line when using the sports shifter; you must pay attention to the tachometer.

I just purchased this vehicle after testing a few totally different suvs. I found that this has the balls needed for passing and merging. It has the v-8 motor with almost every option on it. I love the ultra view sun roof. Everyone who sees it compares it to a convertible. The magna track system give the cross over a very comfortable ride. The Srx is built to serve you. It allows you to program everything from lights flashing upon locking car to stop certain beeps from occurring can personalize it to your own settings. Use the different keys so the car knows who is entering and adjust seats, brake pedal and gas pedal, along with the mirrors. The mirrors fold down in reverse to allow you the see the curb. The Srx also has a sonar detection in back of car that flashes three lights (by rear ceiling) and beeps to let you know that some one or something is getting closer to you. The Bose system is loud and clear. The sport shifter allows you to hold out the rpm and use the engine to it's full potential. You can drive it like a stick with out the foot work. It has a light sensor inside that shuts off the interior lighting when doors are open to conserve battery power. Integrated garage remote 3 button for 3 garage doors or accessories.

Strength:

Price: The SRX is sticker priced around $38,000 which is more then the Lincoln MKX but is has a lower lease rate then the Lincoln.

Weakness:

The SRX does not come with a CD player that plays MP3 disks. The SRX does not have an option for air conditioned seats. The SRX does not come with electric seat controls for the passenger side. The SRX does not have an interior button to open the rear hatch. The SRX does not have an interior button to open the gas tank door.

The base model Cadillac SRX is attractively priced but lacks some very basic features. I leased a 2007 SRX for $350/month with $5k down. The SRX does not come with a driver's seat with lumbar support. To add this feature you have to add a $2,000 seating packiage that includes heated but not air conditioned seats. The Lincoln MKX base model comes with both heated and airconditrioned seats with lumbar support. The SRX does not come with a CD player that plays MP3 disks. The MKX does. The SRX does not come with electric seat controls for the passenger side. The SRX does not have an interior button to open the rear hatch. The SRX does not have an interior button to open the gas tank door.

Great vehicle! Love the skyroof. Strong V6 with all wheel drive for snow and ice. Use the DVD player on trips and didn't think we would. Third row seat helped when family came in for a reunion. Mileage is 19 in town and 22-23 highway. Drives like a sportscar!

Weakness:

Needs another power port in front seat for cell phone/laptop.

I looked at many vehicles before settling on the SRX. I wanted a sporty convertible. This has it all. I love the skyroof and have it open most of the time. The AWD is great in snow and ice. It's a great crossover. I had the optional wood dash package added which makes the interior look more finished. Solid vehicle. Love the tire air pressure monitor and the oil change reminder. Sexy car that reminds me what my Mercedes was suppose to be.

Plenty of power, passing is no problem, very responsive. Great in snow, plenty of air bags for safety. Everything about the SRX is great

Weakness:

Could get better gas mileage, but what do you want for a high performance V-8 with 320 HP I would rather have the larger engine and performance than better gas mileage.

I absolutely love this car, I went to a large car show and looked at the Porsche, Mercedes, Lexus and Land Rover I found the Cadillac to have so many great options. I bought the V-8 AWD fully loaded from the factory, nothing left for Cadillac to add. I also had 20" wheels and tires installed, looks totally awesome. License plate reads One Bad Mountain Cad. The sun roof is the best, I have it open all summer long. I have the 3rd row seat with sun roof over it, the 3rd row passengers love the view thru the sun roof. There is so much on this car I can't list them all. When I drive this car I have so much fun I don't want to stop. It is like driving a sports car. I LOVE IT !!!!!

Strength:

V6 has great power and we believe great gas mileage for our purposes.

Very safe and comfortable car.

Will do the four wheel items when needed in bad weather.

Very quiet car with great sound system.

Did not select navigation package, use laptop with better options when needed or use blue button onstar when lost for directions. Works great if needed.

OnStar function great if problems or vibrations develop on the road - just call and ask to check out and they make recommendations of what to do about a potential problem.

Great set of rear light system. Easy to follow SRX car from miles behind in heavy traffic at night - easily seen and on braking the whole country lights up for safety on the tail lights and top. Great desing great feature.

Weakness:

Some blind spots, but not more than other vehicles.

No trailer hitch for light towing - had to add for moving small items like fishing boat to launch etc.

On Star very expensive on monthly costs.

Several upgrades, brake software, accelerator spring, rear window washer tube kinked from factory.

Cell phone holder area needed and 12 volt recharger for it in a handier place.

Remote control key door and lock openers break off key rings and are expensive to replace. Two for two in a year.

Best vehicle we have ever owned. Very comfortable, good vision and head room. Drives excellent in congested traffic, bad winter weather. Presently have 35,000 miles on it. It was purchased with V6 for four wheel drive gas mileage. We are most pleased as the average has always run better than 19 and as high as 20.9 depending on highway or city basic miles. 4000 pound 4 wheel drive car running at 70 mph on flat freeway getting 22 to 23 miles per gallon instant. Really impressed with the Cadillac V6 engine. Had many V6 and several V8 350 Chevrolet engines includeing an 84 Corvette. This Cadillac V6 will perform when needed. Don't know why one would need a V8 for performance when you pull up to a gas pump for a refill.

Love the glass top and sunroof. Heaters and air conditioning great control. Air pressure monitors have already saved tires from damage with low tire warnings for nails etc.

Made a purchase decision on a new vehicle between a Chevrolet Trail Blazer and a Cadillac SRX. Only a few thousand more in price for a loaded out Trail Blazer. Looked at all four wheel drive cars on the market in 2004 and narrowed to these two.

Have the power 3rd seat option and has been used some for grand children. Works great.

Seat warmers in winter time very nice and use them all the time on the leather seats.

Never had any seat belt problems in the doors as have been discussed.

Like the assist grab handles for elderly people for entry and exit from the vehicle.

Strength:

Handling, performance, fit and finish, comfort, purchase incentives. Three areas that the reviews warned about the seat belt location, plastic looking interior, and the gas mileage; I didn't find that bad,the seat belt on the seat prevents it getting caught in the door, the interior is by necesity plastic but it has a decent feel and the gas milage is good/better than I expected for a 4,000+pd 320hp V8.

Weakness:

Nav system setup programing is weak, but touch screen technology is nice, price for OnStar phone minuites is exorbitant. Console could be better set up for cell phones and blackberrys. Why are there ugly ash trays in the back door?

Beautiful handling vehicle, good ergonomics and superior driver environment, quiet and comfortable.
