Review 1 of 131

Price Paid:  $64000.00 from HABBERSTADT BMW, HUN

Year / Model Reviewed:
2008 535XI

Summary:
EXCELLENT WELL BALANCED VEHICLE. BEING AN AUTO ENTHUSIAST I TRADED A 2007 530XI FOR THE NEWER ENGINE. THE CAR IS PHENOMENAL. IT IS FAST BEYOND BELIEF. 6 CYL. @300HP IS ALMOST UNHEARD OF. THERE IS VIRTUALLY NO TURBO LAG AT ALL. THE ONLY DOWN SIDE IS I GAVE UP SOME ECONOMY BY GOING FOR THE 535. OTHER THAN THAT. THE CAR IS GREAT.

Strengths:
ENGINE, TRANS, TURBOS, POWER AND HANDLING

Weaknesses:
NAVIGATION SYSTEM, CUP HOLDERS, FUEL ECONOMY

Similar Products Used:
530XI, MERCEDES BENZ CLK550, MERCEDES BENZ CL550.

Review 2 of 131

Price Paid:  $48000.00 from Assumed lease in NJ

Year / Model Reviewed:
2008 528 xi

Summary:
This is a great car. Fast, smooth, powerful, good stereo. I love the I Control system. I get better mileage than advertised and I am a somewhat agressive driver. I average 23-24 mpg, more when highway driving.

Strengths:
Engine (BMW makes the best), style, power, handling.

Weaknesses:
I didn't get the sport package. Wish that I had. It handles and rides great but the sport package is more me. That is a personal decision.

Similar Products Used:
Mercedes 420 E.

Review 3 of 131

Price Paid:  $0.00 from Town & Country, Mark

Year / Model Reviewed:
2003 530i

Summary:
What a wonderful car! I took a long time looking for a replacement for my VW Passat and test drove a lot of cars. 5 mins behind the wheel of the 530 and I was hooked. The car felt as if it had been built around me and seemed to know ahead of time what I wanted it to do. Finally understood all of the rave reviews I'd read in auto magazines. Assembly inside and out is impeccable, the design is elegant and understated, the engine is a jewel and the car has the best balance of ride and handling available. As one auto magazine said "the 5 series is the Tiger Woods of sports sedans".

Strengths:
See above

Weaknesses:
The cupholders are a joke but I installed a "real" cupholder from TEC Industries and that works well.

Similar Products Used:
Test drove Audi A6 (quite nice), MB C & E class, Lexus GS300, a couple of forgetable Acuras and a couple of Volvos. Previous cars Passat, Taurus SHO, Z28

Review 4 of 131

Price Paid:  $46000.00 from Tompkinson's

Year / Model Reviewed:
2003 525i

Summary:
I have owned several Mercedes for the past 12 years and I must say that I am quite pleased with my recent purchase of this 5 series. Very solid ride and feel.

Strengths:
Stability, and handling.

Weaknesses:
Naturally the pseudo drink holders. I ordered mine with the sport package and I feel much of the road due to the low profile tires, I'm still getting use to that.

Similar Products Used:
Mercedes Benz.

Review 5 of 131

Price Paid:  $36000.00 from Ferman BMW

Year / Model Reviewed:
2003 BMW 525i

Summary:
This car is a great value for the money. Smooth engine, tight suspension and great gas mileage. I drove a '99 528 for 4 year and really liked it. I've had this car since June '03 and I've put 16K miles on it and haven't had any problems.

Strengths:
Comfortable driving position, good ergonomics, great handling. Gas mileage is amazing, I'm getting 20 MPG as an average! On the highway I can get almost 30 MPG.

Weaknesses:
Cup holders, could use more back seat legroom.

Similar Products Used:
1999 BMW 528i, Lexus E300, Acura Legend
