Review 1 of 24

Price Paid:  $360.00 from Summit Racing

Year / Model Reviewed:
1997 Acura CL-P 3.0 V6

Summary:
I bought AGX's based on review's here and at other sources, this is the only mod that has been a disappointment to me on my car. A little back ground, my car is lowered on Eibach Pro Kit springs, 1 7/16" lower than stock and with Suspension Techniques sway bars front and rear. I drove for about 6 months with the factory struts that were brand new and put up with a bouncy ride before I put the AGX's on. The ride with setting 2 front and 4 back seemed the best compromise between firmness and comfort when I first installed them. Tried lower settings and was bouncy like stock, tried settings 3 front and 6 rear, was way firm, like driving a go cart. A couple of months of driving around with the 2 front and 4 rear setting the old bouncy ride was back, now after about 9 months I am up to 3 front and 5 rear setting and the bouncy ride is returning. I have to agree with the reviewer below me, I am sure that when these struts are around a year old I will have lost all the dampening on them, will be buying Koni yellow's then.

Strengths:
Ease of adjustment, price.

Weaknesses:
Had to drill 5/16" hole in strut tower brace for access to adjuster slot on top of driver side strut. Really degrading at a rapid rate and I only have about 5500 miles on them.

Review 2 of 24

Price Paid:  $0.00 from onlin

Year / Model Reviewed:
1998 Honda Prelude SH

Summary:
These shocks started out pretty good. The ride was comfortable yet firm. But after about a year of use, they got soft and seemed to have lost their adjustability. I wasn't able to feel any difference between the stiffest setting and the lowest. I would have opted for Koni's instead if I had the chance.

Strengths:
Inexpensive........

Weaknesses:
Went soft after only a year of use and as mentioned in my summary, seemed to have lost its dampening adjustability as well. They were inexpensive and affordable, but you get what you pay for.

Review 3 of 24

Price Paid:  $0.00 from TireRack.com

Year / Model Reviewed:
1997 Honda Civic EX

Summary:
TireRack told me the KYB GR2 aren't designed for any lowering so I had to get the KYB AGX's. I paired them up with H&R OE sport springs for my daily driver. With these springs, I softened the strut settings to 1of4 front and 2of8 rear. The adjustability is nice to be able to match the struts to the springs better. 2/4 and 4/8 was too stiff on bumpy street roads. They were a good fit as OEM replacements, but due to the stiffer dampening, they should only be used with stiffer springs. Quality seems to be pretty good; we'll see long term.

Strengths:
Good fit, nice adjustability for matching to springs

Weaknesses:
Would like even more adjustability.
