2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse

Summary:
These tires are terrible. I got almost 65K miles out of the Goodyear Eagle RS-A tires that came with the car, but didn't want to spend the money to get new ones, so I put the Proxes FZ-4 tires on instead. Less than 30K miles later and they are junk. The ones that were on in the front (rotated once) are almost nothing, and the ones in the back have a decent amount of tread, but they are vibrating because the tread is warped (very strange). Besides, they don't grip nearly as well as the RS-A and they don't last half as long.

Strengths:
Moderate Grip and Price.

Weaknesses:
You get what you pay for... price is right if you want to put new tires on every 25K miles.

Summary:
Not a bad tire. Pretty good grip for the price, car handles well in wet conditions, design is pretty aggressive and makes the car looks nice.

Strengths:
Pretty good grip. Alot of stability while cornering. Nice design. Lasts longer than those POS Nitto-450, don't touch those.

Weaknesses:
Seems to be making the same hamming noise as the Nitto NT-450 but not as noisey. If your car is lowered, please do yourself a favor and get a front camber kit so your high performance tires will last longer.

Nitto NT-450: haha! my mountain bike got better tires.

 1987 Honda CRX 1.5

Summary:
After putting these tires on, my car is now the most dangerous vehicle on the road. With the slightest amount of water on the road, my car slides all over the place. If i'm sitting a stop light and give it slightly too much gas my car will slide sideways. It gets even worse if i'm going up a steep hill.
I think the tires are probably pretty good on a heavier car but my authourized Toyo dealer assured me that these would be appropriate for my lightweight 87 CRX 1.5. WRONG! I realize that with all season performance tires there will be a trade off between wet and dry weather grip but this is beyond ridiculous.
I contacted toyo and they said that the tire is in fact appropriate for the CRX and that they have not had any complaints.

The tires are 195-50-15

Strengths:
Probably OK on a heavier car. The tread looks like it's well designed.
Decent traction on dry hot roads.

Weaknesses:
Not appropriate for something as lightweight as a CRX - probably due to the hard compound. Even still - there should be atleast minimal grip on wet roads which is why i give this product a low rating.

Similar Products Used:
I've had Hankooks (v rated) which were just as bad. I've had Defender HRX (h rated) which gripped just awesome on this car.

 86 Toyota Supra

Summary:
I would recommend this tire for supra owners (or similar) looking for a good M+S tire.

Strengths:
Very good tread wear - almost 50K. Dependable and no surprises. Did reasonably well in the snow and rain. I also got close to 50K from Dunlop D40 M2.

Weaknesses:
Not quite as much grip as Dunlop D40 M2 and a little noisier. But the Dunlop is not M+S rated.

Similar Products Used:
Dunlop D40 M2. Toyo was just as good on wet roads but not quite as good on dry. Toyo was much better (of course) in snow.
