Review 1 of 5

Price Paid:  $3000.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
1990 4 pot Brembo / Stillen

Summary:
Brembo is known for quality, but you are really paying for the Italian brand name and import mark up, especially when compared to Wilwood, Alcon and AP, all of which are cheaper, last longer and rare eal RACE calipers. Brembo are essentially STREET calipers that can be used on the track. Wilwood, Alcon and AP are PURE track calipers that can be adopted for the street.

Strengths:
Easy to source parts, pads and rotors.

Weaknesses:
Old technology, way over priced, not as durable on the track as competitors. 'Bling' stuff, garage jewelry. Don't believe the hype. Look at which brands are used in professional racing, then adopt them for your club racing cars. You'll save a lot of $$$.

Similar Products Used:
Wilwood, Alcon, AP, RACE brakes.

Review 2 of 5

Price Paid:  $800.00 from Used

Year / Model Reviewed:
 1997 Nissan Maxima

Summary:
I bought the Gran Turismo kit from a member on my automotive forum and I must say I'm simply blown away by these brakes. It only took me 45 minutes to do the install and bleed the system with basic hand tools because I had a custom set of Wilwood 4-piston calipers on 12.2" rotors. The Brembos seem like an upgrade to me because: 1) they stepped up to 13" cross-drilled rotors and offer better resistance to brake fade. 2) the mechanism of the brake pad is superior to the Wilwood 3) Brembo is DOT approved

Strengths:
Superior stopping ability, good brake feel, very OE friendly, pads do not dust much,

Weaknesses:
Pads are a little thin, barely clears my wheels (I can fit 4 sheets of paper between the caliper and the spoke of my wheel.

Strengths:
Great stopping power and control
Good pedal feel

Weaknesses:
The pads only last 10 to 15K miles and are expensive.
