Price Paid:  $250.00 from Ebay

Year / Model Reviewed:
1997 Sunfire GT

Summary:
If your into the low deep sound, Then go for the street series.

I bought the street series and got a little mixed up, i thought i was buying the race series. I wanted somthing louder and a bit of a zap to it. But ended up with the wrong kind. Ah well.

Strengths:
Sounds deep
Good looks
When you hit the gas it gives off a snap.

Weaknesses:
Sound dies out at higher RPMS.

Review 2 of 31

Price Paid:  $110.00 from Local Installer

Year / Model Reviewed:
1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GS

Summary:
I went for the Magnaflow because I didn't want a raspy, ricey sound on my mostly stock car. It's the first in hopefully a long line of performance mods, and I'm looking to keep my car classy. This muffler delivers...a rich, deep tone without raspiness even on my stock 4-banger. Doesn't have the ugly coffee-can look either. The sound is great in the low RPMs and not too loud in the upper end.

Strengths:
-Rich, deep tone even on a mostly stock 4-banger
-Not too loud in upper RPMs
-No rasp or rattle, very smooth

Weaknesses:
-At lower RPMs it can be a little loud when you're really stomping the gas
-Sometimes resonates at the same frequency of certain beats of my subwoofers...it's weird :p

interior drone (unless you like the sound)

Review 4 of 31

Price Paid:  $300.00 from Local exhaust shop

Year / Model Reviewed:
2002 nissan altima 3.5L

Summary:
I have a pair of the 14829 mufflers. Well I have to say right now I hate these mufflers now that I added headers and got rid of the cats. Before the headers went on it was nice below 3000rpm kind of deep and throaty with just a racepipe on. But droning was there a bit at 2000-2500rpm. Above 3000rpm it started to sound a little ricey considering my car is a 3.5L v6. But now its just HORRIBLE, these things do not like ALOT OF FLOW it resonates the actual metal on the mufflers or somehting and sounds "tinny" NOT good when you have 3.5L v6 stamped on teh back of your car. I'm embarrassed to drive my car right now. I have Flowmaster 50 series delta flows on the way these are MUCH nicer sounding on this car, i've heard them, sounds like borla or dynomax turbos. I also had these on my 2001 Mustang GT and the sound was still kind of high pitched but everyone like stillen and mossy was making systems with this muffler so i figured why not. NEVER again, i will never use magnaflow again for anything besides a v8 and even then there are better choices.

Strengths:
-Look great -nice sound if you have stock manifolds in place, and maybe a resonator -good build quality, good fit -good price -seem pretty light

Weaknesses:
-too raspy and tinny with high flow -too LOUD with high flow exhaust system like with headers, racepipe, and cat-back

Similar Products Used:
flowmaster 40 series (too loud) dynomax super turbo (nice) borla (very nice)

Review 5 of 31

Price Paid:  $200.00 from a-1 mufflers

Year / Model Reviewed:
1992 240sx hatch

Summary:
i've had my DTM tipped street series (2.5" tips) on for over a year now, and let me tell you, the sound is killer. nice and deep (for a 2.4 liter), nice low rumble at idle. i had it mated with 2.25" piping and a free flowing resonator... but it's still pretty loud. without the stereo on and up, it gets annoying. and on the highway, the drone is maddening. also, i had some ecu issues where my injectors locked open, resulting in raw fuel pumped into my exhaust... which resulted in ten foot tall flames shooting from my muffler. and thanks to the upturned dtm tips, my rear bumper caught on fire. a week after i had the whole car repainted... so think about that. i'm relacing it with the "14829", 2.25" inlet, 4" double walled single tip. hopefully it'll be a little quieter (if not i'll fabricate a silencer), and shoot fire straight back if my new ecu fails

Strengths:
-great tone, no fart sounds -high shine, great looking casing

Weaknesses:
-can be VERY loud under WOT -highway drone is obnoxious -DTM tips= carbon all over your rear bumper, and maybe fire -since it's not JDM 1337, yo, you will get no respect from the ricer crowds (if you mention what brand it is. do what i do, tell the retards it's an early Hayame catback)
