Price Paid:  $200.00 from from a friend

Year / Model Reviewed:
2000 APEXi N1 full catback exhaust on 00 honda civic Si

Summary:
Had this product for 7 years and finally had to replace it. According to the mechanic the metal on the inside was coming off as he showed me when he took off the exhaust. But anyway, at 2.38inch piping, this exhaust has to be loud - and it was. without the silencer got about 2 fix it tickets because it is very loud. it is very deep and racey. personally, it sounds best with the silencer on- it sounds more like a race car. it has very good throttle response. a slight tap on the gas pedal and your on your way. when i put on my new exhaust (dc sports twin canister) i realized how much the n1 was better performance-wise. the n1 is extremely responsive. but there is a downfall - 26mpg consistently driven back and forth fwy driving. (civic si's average 26 street 30 hwy mpg). the thing i love about this is that you barely notice that your going uphill on a freeway and it still keeps on pulling. from 80 - 90 is a breeze - a very free flowing and genius design. unlike any other. so like i said, i just bought a new dc exhaust and i have started to evaluate. one thing is clear - apexi n1 wins in performance gains. so far dc wins on the exhaust sound.

Strengths:
quick throttle response. highly responsive. a breeze from 80 -90. sounds racer-like. price used $200 straight through design angled muffler. performance gains.

Weaknesses:
loss in low end torque. eats up gas. (26mpg) hwy. civic si supposed to be 30mpg hwy 26 street. hang very low on the ground. when the mechanic took it off there was a hole on the resonator. not recommended if you are dropping your car 2 + inches. (maybe even less than that). after 7 years metal on inside starts coming off. when mechanic took exhaust off black water was dripping out. can be LOUD. fix it tickets twice.

stock and dc sports twin canister system

Review 4 of 68

Price Paid:  $0.00 from online

Year / Model Reviewed:
1998 Honda Prelude

Summary:
Purchased this because I needed a free flowing exhaust to get the most out of my JRSC'ed prelude which was a success compared to the Thermal I replaced. Other than that, this exhaust SCREAMS rice withe its overly huge tip and nasty noise. I sacrificed a nice looking good sounding Thermal exhaust for power, which I got but at the price of of loud noise and a huge very not subtle exhaust look, which is not what I typically care for. Otherwise it's a quality product, the fit is perfect, craftmanship is topnotch. But this style exhaust is not for me. I hated it INspite of the added performance, which to me wasn't enough to offset the annoyances.

Strengths:
Free-flowing = more power. Perfect fit and good craftmanship overall

Weaknesses:
LOUD! LOUD! LOUD! sure it had a silencer but to me it sounded like sh*t with the silencer.

Review 5 of 68

Price Paid:  $499.00 from www.autoaccessorysto

Year / Model Reviewed:
2001 Honda Prelude

Summary:
This is an excellent exhaust system. Almost immediately i felt the power gain from the middle to the topend of the power band. The sound is great, and it screams when you hit VTEC. Its definitely worth the money, and it looks good too, or at least I think it does on my lude. Its not too loud inside the car, which is great, and outside of the car it has a deep, throaty tone.

Strengths:
Deep tone Slanted tip looks good Power gain Not too loud inside of car

Weaknesses:
None as of yet
