Year / Model Reviewed:
 Orion Cobalt CO15S2

Summary:
The Orion Cobalt Series 2 is an amazing product. I picked up a pair of 15s from a friend of mine that wanted to upgrade. He had them in a box that was two times too small for them (and wouldn't fit in my car at the time!), so I removed one and traded it for a box for the other one. With a proper box, this subwoofer is incredible, especially for what they go for. A local pawnshop was selling them for $50 a peice three years ago (which is about what I paid for mine). The only time I've ever even heard this subwoofer bottom out is whilst listenning to Banco Di Gaia's "You are here" album, which is a techno album that's very heavy on the very low, loud bass. It bottoms out on the loudest portions of the song, but only when I have it cranked. I currently have the sub powered by an Alpine 3554 which is set up to deliver 750 watts into each voice coil of the sub. I don't have it cranked, but so far, the sub has handled everything I've forced it through. All in all, I would recomend this sub to anyone looking to enhance their audio quality by adding some extra bass, as this sub handles both the higher and lower tones beautifully whilst maintaining a good quality of sound. The price factor is also a win.

Strengths:
Cheap, great sound, handles much more then it says it can.

Weaknesses:
Bottoms out if the low tones get too low, but only if it's turned way up.
