Review 1 of 4

Price Paid:  $90.00 from good friend

Year / Model Reviewed:
 98

Summary:
I bought these for $90...they are very very good speakers and are for the Audiophiles ears...they can take all the power my 4 channel Kenwood amp (rated at 320watts@4ohms)which gives out decent power...the tweeters and midranges are among the best i''''ve heard..and thats comparing them to the MB Quart Q series which retail for $1,200 and came out earlier this year...

Strengths:
Great components from top to bottom

Weaknesses:
NONE

Similar Products Used:
Boston acoustic pro 5 1/4" components, Kenwood 5 1/4" components, Rockford components (those were the worst)

Review 2 of 4

Price Paid:  $400.00

Summary:
I can honestly say that I haven't bought anything that has given me as much long-term enjoyment as these speakers. I bought the second generation 6 1/2" component set 4 years ago for $400. I'm still using the same set today. At first I thought there weren't enough highs so I switched to Polks (EX), which use awesome tweeters, but the more I listened to them, the more I realized the a/d/s's were more sonically accurate, so the a/d/s's went back in.
The people at a/d/s are very friendly and very helpful. I've been corresponding with Pat Molettieri about recommendations for my new car, and every message I receive is helpful and insightful. They really know car audio and are willing to go the extra mile for their customers. Check them out at www.adst.com

Strengths:
The sound quality is amazing!!! I wish there were more than 5 stars possible.

Weaknesses:
Price - but you get what you pay for.

Similar Products Used:
Polk, Eclipse

Review 3 of 4

Year / Model Reviewed:
 1998

Summary:
I've been into car audio for 13 years now and officially jumped on the MB Quart bandwagon 8 years ago. These speakers slapped me right off that bandwagon on onto the a/d/s train. WOW, these are entry level? They just replaced their A series with the 200 series but its the same speaker basically. It has a warm, well balanced sound from top to bottom. I bought these off the internet for $200, they retail for $400. I'll bet the $300 coaxial version of this speaker sounds just as good. I'll be buying a/d/s speakers from now on. If your sick of the overbright, overpriced, overrated, tinney sounding MB Quarts, give this speaker a try. You won't be sorry

Strengths:
Smooth, natural sound, not overbright or harsh

Weaknesses:
It should have been in my car 6 years ago!!!

Similar Products Used:
Quart, Quart, Quart, Polk, Alpine, Bostwick, and oh yea, Quart

Review 4 of 4

Summary:
These are trully superb speakers. I used these speakers to replace the stock component front speakers in my 99 VW Golf. The sound is mezmerizing. If you close your eyes (while the car is parked) it sounds like you are listening to the music live. The sound is near home audophile quality. I recommend pairing these speakers with the Eclipse 5543 cd/receiver, even without a seperate amp. I recommmend these speakers without reservation.

Strengths:
superb sound quality; fit and finish; value

Weaknesses:
none.

Similar Products Used:
sony, eclipse
