Summary: These speakers by diamond audio sound as good as anybodys for double the price even triple! The highs are crisp and clear and the mid bass is decent. These speakers play all types of music very well. Currently in my car I have john mellencamp, zztopp, the boss,bb king, lynkin park, various rap, metallica, korn and they all are reproduced the way they should be. with these speakers they will bring out all the flaws in your recording which is a good thing.

Summary: I had a set of M3' before the M6's and the M3's sounded a little flat compared to these. I am thoroughly impressed with their clarity and i feel that they have descent mid bass response. Comparing them to other speakers that are of similar value, i really don't think any can come close. I had my M3's for a good 2 years and played them loud all the way until i replaced them with the M6's. I have not one single regret.
Strengths: Extreme clarity, ability to play at high volulme levels with no distortion whatsoever
Weaknesses: Maybe a bit more kick as far as mid bass is concerned
Similar Products Used: Image Dynamics(excellent), Boston Acoustics (excellent), Kenwood Excelon(horrible), Fosgate (horrible), Kicker(descent).

Summary: If you are reading these reviews to make a decision on purchasing these seperates... Let me save you some time... Walk away from the computer and go to your nearest Diamond dealer, and buy them, NOW!
I do not understand why these seperates are so relativly unknown by most car audio fanaticts. I have personaly owned some of the best speakers that money can buy, and these flat out destroy just about everything! The only speakers I can think of that out perform them are the Dynaudio 240 MKII (at a cost of 4x as much). If cost is no object-then go for the Dyn's, but if you live in the real world like most of us do, then save yourself time, money, and headaches. Just buy the Diamonds. I have always been a big fan of soft-dome tweets, so I tried the Hex first, and let me just say that I do not know how someone can spend twice as much for them, over the M's. The aluminum tweets sound so soft and transparent, while still remaining neutral yet detailed without any noticable compression at high levels. Wow! Not to mention the fantastic accuracy and extention of the mids (smart of them to use magnesium in their alloy-simmilar to Seas drivers).
For those people making comments about no mid-bass, They Are Wrong! Just put power to them (@least 100w/rms) and make sure to deaden the panel behind the mid (dynamat/accuflex) you will find that they have plenty of mid-bass, even more than the Hex. I have been driving mine with 100watts a side via a McIntosh class A and blending them with 2-12" ID Max subs on a monoblock... Pure Audible Utopia Bliss!!!
The seperates blend so well with themselves, that you can't tell where the mids end and the highs begin... You know, like the way high-end audio should sound.
Best bang for the buck anywhere in car or home audio. These seperates are in a class all their own and would be a great deal for anyone who loves music, the way it was meant to be heard... C.K.
Strengths: Exelent build quality. Audiophile sound at a Circut City price. Clean-articulate sound that plays as loud as you can handle. Lots of detail from a sweet soundstage and fantastic image. Great x-over with "real world" usable options. Slightly smaller flange diameter helps with easier speaker mounting in most doors.
Weaknesses: The only major weakness... These Diamonds make me feel like a fool for spending $899.00 on a pair 2 way Dynaudio's. (oh yeah, the x-overs are a little large... who cares!)

Summary: Very nice speakers!!! A little advice to anyone who buys these though, they need ALOT OF POWER to get the optimum peformance out of them, especially the midbass. I started out with a PPI amp providing 30w RMS to each speaker. They sounded very clear, but my subwoofer would drown them if I wasn't careful. Then, I bought a bigger PPI amp supplying 75w rms to each speaker. THe difference was very noticeable, the midbass started to come alive then, and I could turn them up WAY LOUDER!!! THen, I upgraded to a Memphis amp providing 100w RMS and up to 200w max to each speaker!!! This is when I realized what speakers I had bought!!! It was seriously hard to drown these speakers with my 3 10" subs. And let me tell you the midbass definition was incredible!!! Acousic Guitar notes sound out of this world. Finally I upgraded to an Orion XTR amp running around 140w RMS to each speaker, we bench tested the amp and it hit 209w with hardly and distortion. So I was powering these things to death, but they handled the power very well, and this is probably the power you want to supply to them. I bought these instead of Focal Utopias because I didn't want to have to supply so much power, but they need about the same power. My mids ride right on top of my sub bass, and there is no way to drown these babies out now. I never knew mids and highs could sound so loud and not distort!!! I think this is why none of you have really loud midbass, because you are all supplying like 50-75w when you should be supplying at least 100w RMS to em. I will be replacing these with Image dynamics Chameleons or some more Diamonds, but HEX this time, and these will go in the back. My JL coaxals have just about had it and they cannot handle the 100w RMS my amp is capable of supplying to the rear channels.
Strengths: Can handle tons of power!!! Price, crossover options
Weaknesses: power hungry just like Utopias by Focal, not bi-ampable, easy to ding up the metal midbass
Summary: good speakers all in all, sound awesome with beautiful sounding music, not so great with others. you can hear a large difference between mp3's and actual store bought cd's. LACKING MIDBASS!! my brother has a pair of boston 5.25in coaxials that put out over twice the bass these do.
Strengths: sound really good with the right music. loud!
Weaknesses: LACKING MIDBASS. sound bad with bad recordings (not necessarily a weakness, but with a poorer quality speaker you wouldnt notice as much)
