Review 1 of 4

Price Paid:  $230.00 from ebay

Year / Model Reviewed:
 RFX9400

Summary:
Looks and feels well made. Sound qualtiy is exellent. internal amp is powerful, plus the obvious benefit of fitting 150-200 tracks on 1 disc. mp3 funcionaltiy is limited tho - it wont read CDRW, no ability to repeat current directory, random play covers the whole disc, only 16 didgit naming and cant move backwards and forwards thru current track to name but a few. To be fair most mp3 players are probably the same in these respects. On the whole an impressive unit.

Strengths:
Looks seriously high quality Copper chassis is impressive The volume knob. Sounds exellent Bags of outputs

Weaknesses:
needs to be wired up manually - no iso connector no RDS on this model Functions for mp3 playing only 16 digit mp3 file nameing and no spaces or hypens. Can be fiddly getting to some buttons around volume control

Review 2 of 4

Price Paid:  $205.00 from Ebay

Year / Model Reviewed:
 RFX 9400

Summary:
unit on whole is very sturdy, clear controls, display and buttons, looks alot more expensive than it is, and sounds it to, a definate purchase for a first time buyer into mp3 territory.

Strengths:
motorised panel, 5v pre outs, sub out, looks, sturdy, quick at accessing mp3 tracks unlike some other units, wireless remote included, simple instructions,

Weaknesses:
lack of af/ta on import models, contrast in to narrow an adjustment for some installations, different wiring harness to new cars on import model(dont know bout uk ones), track name on mp3 is quick short and no spaces can be used, must be _...., no major faults though

Review 3 of 4

Price Paid:  $250.00 from Ebay

Year / Model Reviewed:
 Rockford Fosgate RFX9400

Summary:
This was also my first venture into in-car MP3 players, the unit is well built and comes with numerous handy features. The quality of the sound is also excellent as is the displays and functions.

Strengths:
3 Pre outs, Silver facia, copper chassis, audio/video in/out, RF Punch feature, Rear Seat Speaker function.

Weaknesses:
Expensive - but you get what you pay for! NB unless you select the EUR/AUST tuning band, the tuner will be preset to AMERICAS, this means that you can only search odd frequency numbers e. 95.7 or 95.9 fm BUT THIS IS RESOLVED by holding down the volume button, Choosing AMERICAS and changing it to EUR/AUST.

Review 4 of 4

Price Paid:  $250.00 from ebay

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2002

Summary:
This was my first venture into the world of MP3 on CD's and i must say i'm very impressed! Most of the functions are easy to get the hang of and the player/remote looks really good. One of the most useful features is the ability to make groups of folders on a single CD to hold different albums/styles of music. This makes navigating through the tracks a lot quicker than most players. The only drawback is that for some reason you can only tune in to radio stations that end in an odd number eg 102.3 *Really weird*

Strengths:
Ease of use Fairly powerful output (40W * 4) Lot of outputs for amps Looks Great 200 tracks on 1 CD! Excellent sound quality

Weaknesses:
Allergic to even number radio stations
