Review 1 of 3

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2000/P440

Summary:
I bought this amp (P440, not the P440.2) as a B-Stock item. This amp is crystal clear at all power ranges, easy to install, and shows me exactly where my Alpine head unit really distorts. This amp is more than adequate to drive 1, 2, or 4 speakers in any car less than a convertible. I installed it in a Nissan Maxima, replacing the Bose system. It drives A/D/S 336.2 component separates up front and A/D/S A6IM's in back. This amp is extremely versatile for someone that wants to take their first real step into becoming a novice audiophile and will remain in their system when they begin competition.

My final recommendation is don't buy B-Stock. My third channel quite working after 3 weeks.

Find someplace to check one out, listen to their comments, and for a backyard installer... find one online at a REPUTABLE & AUTHORIZED reseller. It's worth the money.

Strengths:
Clean, clear, loud sound
Small footprint
Runs extremely cool
Ability to configure
Easy integration

Weaknesses:
3rd channel stopped working on a B-Stock purchase
Bland charisma
Black paint scratches easily

For someone looking to seriously step up their OEM or basic stereo system over time, start here rather than the equipment you can buy for $100 - $200 less. You'll be glad you made the decision.

Review 2 of 3

Summary:
Let me first start by saying I am a long time a/d/s amplifier owner. I bought my first power plate about 8 years ago. Unfortunately, when some spineless #%!hole stole my stereo and amp out of my car I had to look for a new amp. I turned to the a/d/s P440.2. I couldn't be happier. The sound is even better than the old a/d/s amp I had. The amp is extremely powerful and it provides the cleanest sound I have ever heard. When they say it is a 160 watt amp, you 160 watts of clean power, unlike the 300 watt Sony's that you will be lucky to get 25 clean watts. The built-in cross over feature is great and there are a number of excellent setup feature. A+ a/d/s!

Strengths:
Clean Sound, Great Power, Built-in Cross over

Weaknesses:
None

Old A/D/S model
