The 2008 C70 is a 2-door, 4-passenger convertible, available in one trim only, the T5.
Upon introduction, the C70 is equipped with a standard 2.5-liter, I5, 227-horsepower, turbo engine that achieves 18-mpg in the city and 27-mpg on the highway. A 6-speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard, and a 5-speed automatic transmission is optional.
Summary: After test driving the Audi, BMW, Sebring and the Mercedes hardtop convertibles I choose this model. It wasn't the quickest, the best handeling or the best styling, but it won out by being second in just about all of the categories listed above. The real winner is the comfort of the driver & passenger seating. The sound system was the best out of all. It is remarkable. The styling is subtle, and it gets it's fair share of looks, but no sports car here. The beauty is when the top is down. This becomes an eye catcher from 0 to 120mph. I can put my golf bag and carrier in the trunk, but not with the top down, for that I move the bag to the rear seat. I have retracted the hardtop at a stop light, and believe me when I tell you all eyes were on this car. It is an orchestrated beauty when folding up or down and will have the envy of all around. I am surprised by the number of people that don't believe me when I tell them it's a convertible. When the hardtop is up, it looks like a sleek coup. The power plant is responsive, and handles well. The suspension is rigid, and performs adequatley as well. This is no high performance vehicle by any stretch of the imagination, but for it's price it wins hands down.
Weaknesses: Rear end styling is like all other Volvos

Summary: This is my second C70, so that tells a tale, however I find the most recent one to have a serious wind noise problem from both front windows. Been back six times now with the dealer to resolve. Also suffers from buffeting at the sunroof when its raining or the car is wet, this problem was in my previous 1999 model.P.S.Has anyone else experienced the wind noise problem ?
Strengths: Well built ''sexy'' coupe beautifully finished both inside and out. Top class performance from a refined turbocharged engine.
Weaknesses: don''t like the new automatic gearbox , old one was better as you had an option to select mose eg sport economy etc. ride a bit bumpy in city however sports supension and 17" alloys are a contributory factor.

Summary: Nice car to own it could use more horse power and a lower profile.Over all it is ia better value than a 3 series or Clk for the money. Inside and out its clean refreshing and besides sun roof gurgle in the rain its a pretty good buy. Had only i real problem which was the transmission but it was fixed by the dealer.
Strengths: Nice looking unique vehicle great ride and handling, outstanding value for the money. I like that you dont see very many on the streets.
Weaknesses: Needs more horse power lower profile and a sunroof that doesnt gurgle when it rains.

Summary: GOOD LOOKING CAR. WIFE GETS POSITIVE COMMENTS FROM STRANGERS ABOUT LOOKS OF CAR.
Strengths: GREAT SEATS, GREAT SOUND SYSTEM WHEN WORKING
Weaknesses: THIS CAR HAS BEEN ONE OF THE MOST FRUSTRATING EXPERIENCES I HAVE HAD WITH A CAR SINCE I CANNOT REMEMBER WHEN. IN FOURTEEN THOUSAND MILES, BRAKE ROTORS REPLACED, RADIO REPLACES, TIRES REPLACED AND NOW THE RADIATOR. WENT TO PICK UP CAR TODAY, FOUR DAYS AFTER SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT ONLY TO FIND CAR OVER HEATED AND LEAKED COOLANT. THE SERVICE ON THIS VEHICLE IS TERRIBLE.

Summary: It appears that my 2001 Volvo C70 canvas
convertible top was not sealed properly from the factory. Any droppings or dirt that hits the top leaves a stain. Volvo will not address this problem, even though the car is under warranty.
Anybody familiar with this problem, or have any suggestions?? Thank you, Jeff
