Review 1 of 3

Price Paid:  $450.00 from On-Line

Year / Model Reviewed:
2005 Eclipse SW-9152

Summary:
I am new to car stereo's, and decided to put a nice system in my Excursion, and came across these bad boys. These are the first, and will be the last subs I ever buy.
Ok, so I am so satisfied with these I don't know where to begin, I am running a Rockford Fosgate T20001bd amp, which is putting out 1245 watts, and I don't even know if I am pushing the subs hard or what. I am afraid of blowing one so I don't want to abuse them. All I know is they ROCK, I have a huge ported box, which is as wide as my Excursion, and about 18" deep. They hit so hard I can't even write a review right because my brain it still being jarred from the 3.25" of movement these subs have. Everywhere I go I get complmented on them, and it is fun to drive thru S-Mart (name change)and set off every car alarm in the parking lot...

Strengths:
Price, material, looks, ok, look, just buy these things!!!

Weaknesses:
my ear drums

Review 2 of 3

Price Paid:  $700.00 from TNT Audio (Victoria

Year / Model Reviewed:
2002 Eclipse SW-9152

Summary:
This is a great sub that is very versital. It has great control overall, and is a very precise driver in sealed or ported. The power needed to get this sub to reach full potential is way more than Eclipse lets on. I use 1500+ watts RMS from an Eclipse DA-7122. Before that I broke it in for 6 months in a sealed box using an Earthquake PH-D2. Needless to say you can never have too much power. I tuned my final enclosure to 35Hz, and this allows for a -3dB downpoint of 16Hz give or take. In turn this means the sub plays at full excursion below the limits of human hearing. EVERYTHING moves and rather violently if I might say so. Not bad for a single driver. Eclipse and TC Sounds have put together a great driver that is capeable of filling the needs of SQ heads, and bass freaks alike.

Strengths:
Total powerhouse of a sub. Very clean, very precise in sealed or ported applications. The impact is greater than most subs ive owned, and ive owned quite a few, so that says something.

Weaknesses:
Enclosures for max output ported approach 6CF per sub on the 15's

Kicker L715's W6v2 12's W712's Alpine Type R's RF Punch Power DVC's (old skool) Kicker XPL15's Orion HCCA 12's Orion H210's the list continues, but I cant think of anymore right now.
