The 2008 Suburban is a 4-door, up to 9-passenger sport-utility, available in 18 trims, ranging from the LS 1500 2WD to the LT3 2500 4WD.

Upon introduction, the LS 1500 2WD is equipped with a standard 5.3-liter, V8, 320-horsepower engine that achieves 15-mpg in the city and 21-mpg on the highway. A 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard. The LT3 2500 4WD is equipped with a standard 6.0-liter, V8, 352-horsepower engine that achieves 14-mpg in the city and 19-mpg on the highway. A 6-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard.

The 2008 Suburban is a carryover from 2007.

pre 1997 Chevrolet Suburban

Summary:
(pre 1997 Model) - Overall a good tow-vehicle. Has trouble passing emission inspection due to the big 454 engine.

Strengths:
The Suburban is a ""workhorse"". I tow a 30' Avion with very little effort. Ilike the 2 swinging doors on the rear. Comfortable to ride in especially on freeways and interstates.

Weaknesses:
Gas miliage is low 7-9 MPG and I have a Gearvendor Overdrive that was an add-on that functions intermittently. Emission inspections are a hassle.
