Summary:
This is the worst radar detector I have ever used, the worst part is, it was stongly suggested by the owner of Buzz Off alarms in Tampa. I was advised and believed it to be a credible recommendation, big mistake.

Strengths:
None

too many

Review 3 of 3

Price Paid:  $279.00 from Precision Cellular a

Year / Model Reviewed:
 K40 RD650VG2

Summary:
You're probably wondering why this is the only review for K40. It's because I'm the only one dumb enough to buy one! I compared this detector with an Escort Passport 7500 on one of those Police Radar signs that tells you how fast you're going. The K40 didn't have nearly the range that the 7500 had. Also, it has an LED display instead of a matrix, which isn't terrible, but when you're looking at it from the driver's seat, the lights don't line up with which type of radar is being detected. I can't tell if its picking up X or K or Ka. Also it has no volume control or dimmer which is pretty shi*ty for such an expensive unit. The guys at Precision Cellular and Sound are complete a**holes! If you are in the Stevens Point area, don't go there! I went to return the K40 only a couple days after I bought it and they charged me a 25% restock fee. Thats $75, what a kick in the balls! I would have been willing to pay 5 or even 10% but not 25%! I had everything that came with it too, box in perfect condition with all of the accessories neatly wrapped. For the money, get the Escort Passport 8500. It is awesome.

Strengths:
Absolutely none.

Weaknesses:
Ugly. Bad Display. Insanely expensive. Works no better than cheapo detectors.
