Price Paid:  $275.00 from Speed Store

Year / Model Reviewed:
 1986 Shelby Turbo

Summary:
My car might be old school...but it's a wolf in sheep's clothing. It puts out over 300 dyno proven HP and turns .92 g's on the skids. So, even though I mostly take it to the track (drag and circle), I do occassionally like to embarrass other cars at the stoplights and freeways. I'd rather put my money into my car than into the pockets of the police, so I chose what many recommend to be the best radar and laser defense...the K40 Undetectable Remote Radar and Laser DefuserPlus. This review is only about the DefuserPlus. It's easy to operate, a breeze to install, and is a must have for anyone that wants an early warning that police are watching you. It doesn't give you a license to speed...you should use it as an early warning system to let you know you are speeding and should slow down.

Strengths:
The DefuserPlus really jams laser guns! I've been to several autocross events where other racers who are in law enforcement have brought their radar and laser guns. The cops know about this product and are ticked off about it...but say it's perfectly legal. A few have even added it to their own race cars! Even if you were to get a ticket, K40 pays for it. The product is always on and ready to receive a laser beam. When it receives one, it automatically sends a beam back to the cop's gun and jams it. You do have to slow down cause otherwise the cop can make a visual reading on you. But so what? I get an early warning and then drive by the cop below the legal speed limit and he just stares at me knowing that I was speeding earlier, but can't do a thing about it!

Weaknesses:
To work properly, the DefuserPlus has to have an "unobstructed view of the road." This can pose an install problem on some cars and make the install process a bit more complex. But, you can use the supplied license plate frame for a standard looking, quick install. I like my car to look as stock as possible for the ultimate sleeper so I mounted mine flush with the grill. You'll need a Dremel and some skill to do it this way.

Similar Products Used:
None...there's no equal to the Laser DefuserPlus in terms of performance and trick looking install.
