Was Sienna built for you or for your kids? Our engineers studied families and their kids so we could design a minivan to meet their specific needs. Obviously, the available cartoon-playing rear-seat DVD entertainment system gets every kid's okay. But the available JBL Synthesis® 10-speaker audio system plus touch-screen DVD navigation system [2] with backup camera [3] is a grown-up thing. To stay young at heart, the Sienna also comes complete with Bluetooth® capabilities and satellite radio [4]. With so many good things inside, we understand your desire for longer rides. And a new 3.5-liter engine will enhance your performance without sacrificing your MPG to make your ride just as long as you want it. And who benefits from standard three-row side curtain airbags, side-impact door beams and 3-point seatbelts in all seating positions? Clearly, the 2007 Toyota Sienna was built for the whole family.
New for 2007
The 2007 Toyota Sienna receives a more powerful engine, new aluminum alloy wheel design on AWD versions and a standard tire-pressure-monitoring system. The new 266-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 replaces the previous 215-horsepower 3.3-liter V6 engine and produces 245 lb-ft of torque at 4700 rpm.
Summary: I just wanted to make a couple of comments on our new Sienna. We had a 2001 Honda Odyssey, and this Sienna is much nicer, and I could get it without that stupid climate control. I hate climate control. It's quieter and gets about 1 mpg better gas mileage. We're averaging 20.5 mpg according to the trip computer. I get 22 mpg at 80-85 mph in California traffic (on and off the gas constantly) and consistently get 19 mpg in town. I don't have a light foot either. Anyone complaining about poor gas mileage and squeaky brakes probably brakes with the left foot and rides the brake all the time.
As for the side airbags, they are fine to use for kids; that's what they're designed for. It's the FRONT airbags that are dangerous for short people.
My dealer has been amazing for the two little piddly things I took the van in for (slight blemishes on head restraints).
Strengths: Roomy, powerful, comfortable, good mpg, versatile, safe.
Weaknesses: I'd like the telescoping steering wheel to telescope further out. I'm 6'2" tall, and the steering wheel is too far away on ALL vehicles with airbags.
It could use a more torquey engine. It's got plenty of power, but downshifts a lot. Of course, then the gas mileage would suffer a lot, so it's a trade off.

Summary: The van has less than 1000 miles and we have had it for a little over 3 weeks. We have had the transmissoin fail twice, both times in very dangerous situations. We are fighting to get rid of this lemon and are very disappointed in Toyota. We are also having electrical problems with the radio.
Strengths: it looks good!
Weaknesses: transmission, radio, service received
Similar Products Used: we've had many toyotas, and our most recent van was a plymouth voyager.

Summary: I purchased the 2004 Sienna in May of 2003. Many problems with back seat, seat belt, brought in several times finally after 4 times was fixed, but needed a manager to get it done correctly. Living in New England the back slider doors freeze in snow, rain and cold weather, you can imagine how hard it is to get children in or out. After 4 or 5 times brought in it is still not corrected, safety issue. I even called Toyota and still not resolved. If you can't get them in correctly how would get them out in an emergency?
My car is now at Toyota getting a new motor on the back automatic slider door, already been there 4 days and part still is not in, good thing I bought extended warranty or I would be dishing out over $1000. Many recalls including a new gas tank.
I like the ride but Toyota needs to step up to the plate and get things fixed when vehicles are brought in.
Strengths: roomy, nice ride
Weaknesses: slider doors

Tires: We had to replace the tires at 30,000 miles and then the replace at 60,000 miles, tire store manager said the tire size was not designed right for the van.
I needed to replace the air conditioner at my cost. Out of warranty.
The radiator went bad, Toyota paid for that.
Now the fun part, all of the door mechanisms needed to be replaced, Toyota paid for the front door because it was safety concern. But the side doord they said they would only cover half out of "good will", they must not care about kids as much as adults. I am was only half happy. This cost me $3000.
I would venture to guess I paid close to $6000 in extra repairs for this van since it was purchased new in 2004. Not an easy pill to swallow considering the gas price increases within the last year.
I never will purchase another Toyota.
Strengths: Styling and drive
Weaknesses: Quality, Quality, Quality
