Price Paid:  $11000.00 from na

Year / Model Reviewed:
1995 ford

Summary:
OK, as someone who works in the NW claims dept I take my fair share of calls from angry customers. With that being said and after reading all these complaints I have this to say:
So many of these complaints are not valid due to the fact that NW uses aftermarket/re-conditioned parts for repairs does not make them a bad company it make you a dumbass for not understanding what insurance is or how it works, see there is a thing called OEM endorsement you can ELECT to add to your policy which covered OEM repair parts not aftermarket, but I would guess those who chose to complain are way too smart to ever think of something so logical(its a business, not a charity ppl!) and another thing read up about how insurance works, your agent is nothing but a middle man who sells you the policy, makes changes to your policy, and accepts your payment! That's ALL folks that is why on your insurance card it says to file a claim call 800.421.3535!!
Everyone has bad experiences with their insurance company but ppl need to understand there are people who will fake injuries(a lot more than you think) or intentionally damage their property so that they can have new things or $$$ that is the main reason that claims have to be surveyed at all posible angles. In conclusion most all of the complaints I have read on here are from people who either chose not to read their policy's and understand how insurance is done or are just too ignorant to want to know and end up getting burned in the end for their own stupidity!

Strengths:
you get the coverage you PAY for, nothing more nothing less

Weaknesses:
prices are a little high

Review 3 of 55

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:
We have had Nationwide for over 10 years. We are both over age 30 and homeowners. We have had no claims on our auto policy. We have never been late on a payment. We have no speeding tickets in the last 7 years. But somehow Nationwide thinks that we should be paying $1300 per year for 3 cars that are both over 10 years old. Funny, huh? They also raised our homeowners policy to $1000 a year for a house worth just under $100,000. Bargain, huh? NOT!! We went to State Farm, who charged us half what Nationwide wants to for the SAME COVERAGE!!!! Oh, and once we were changing around our life insurance policies, and decided to cancel this one little $15,000 policy. The agent actually THREW the surrender papers at us. What a joke!

Strengths:
ZERO

Weaknesses:
price and customer service

Similar Products Used:
State Farm

2008 Mazda

Summary:
Titan Auto Insurance (5915 Landerbrook Drive, Cleveland, OH 44124-4058) - Nationwide subcompany. Monthly Premiums at around $84.14 for myself alone. Initially quoted at $125 with spouse, then sent a letter increasing monthly premium to $275 without my approval. Delays cancellation and continues unauthorized premium debit charges. Adds exorbitant penalties after cancellation and threatens credit report retalliation.

Strengths:
Low initial premiums.

Weaknesses:
Hidden exceedingly high penalties for cancellation. Delays cancellation while charging premiums. Raises premiums without consent. Processes unauthorized debit transaction for cancelled policy.

Review 5 of 55

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:
I had this auto insurance, the rate was competitive but the service was pathetic and then moved to different state and rates zoomed like anything.
After canceling the policy, I got the refund very quickly but it was 50% of what I was expecting. Other problem is customer care is poor can't help for anything but redirect you to local agent.
I did not get the break up or calculation of my refund after giving 15-20 call to agent finally I gave up and sent a fax with the same details but in a very Harsh words and then I got the remaining refund in a week.

Strengths:
rates are good

Weaknesses:
no service , poor customer care, very poor web site.

Similar Products Used:
I will go back to Geico instead.
