Review 1 of 62

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:
More than seven months ago, my car was hit by another driver. It took Allstate four weeks to determine that my car was deemed a total loss and inform me of the settlement amount. Four weeks! Who has four weeks to wait around without a car and without the ability to purchase a new car because you have no idea how much you will get paid out?
I waited patiently to be reimbursed for my deductible. Fast forward seven months. I still haven't received my deductible, so I called the insurance company of the driver who caused the accident. It turns out that Allstate never even filed a claim with the other insurance company, nor did they bother to request a copy of the police report.

Strengths:
????

Weaknesses:
Terrible customer service. Choose another insurance company

Price Paid:  $65000.00 from Fields BMW Winter Pa

Year / Model Reviewed:
2008 BMW 535i

Summary:
Ive had Allstate since 1989, and everytime a renewal pops up I have a substantial increase in price as to my premiums. I started out with $1500 per six months and now im at $3000. No accidents or anything. When you call them, they never answer the phone, and there is a charge for everything. DONT PURCHASE AUTO INSURANCE WITH THESE INSOLENT SNAKES!

Strengths:
none

Weaknesses:
everything

Similar Products Used:
AIG (also sucks), GEICO (little better), Liberty Mutual (horrible!)

Review 3 of 62

Price Paid:  $22000.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
2005 Acura RSX

Summary:
I totalled my car. Allstate exhibited stellar claims service. They took care of my rental car and reimbursed the total estimated cost of my car - I was very pleased. The accident was almost 3 years ago and I have spoken highly of them since and will continue to do so. Definitely made the accident less of a nightmare for me! I was surprised to see that from an ins co.

Strengths:
Quick response, fair in settling auto claims, everything taken care of

Weaknesses:
Nothing that I can remember

Review 4 of 62

Price Paid:  $30000.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
2000 Chevy Corvette

Summary:
I read many of the reviews here and many are just ignorance of the insurance industry. One prime example was the guy who spilled milk on his laptop and expected his homeowners to replace it. I have to laugh at that one. If you have any common sense, you don't drink and "Drive" near a 2k laptop. Come on! lol

Allstate had been a great agency for me for many years.
I hydroplaned in my covette and totaled it a few years back, yet she answered the phone at 11 pm in the evening. They paid the total loss with no questions whatsoever.

Strengths:
24/7 customer service ( the producer even gave me her cell phone number in case I had any questions any time of day or night)Great rates even with accidents on my record, and the best sr 22 rates in SC (My BF found this out)

Weaknesses:
None

Similar Products Used:
Nationwide, State Farm

Review 5 of 62

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:
I moved from NJ to NC in 2006. I thought my insurance would go down but it didn't so i decided to try another insurance carrier, Allstate. What a mistake. Not only did my policy amount not go down, right before i cancelled it i got a letter stating they found mistakes in my policy on their end and were going to raise it.

Well after I got married I went on my husbands State Farm policy since we also had our homeowners through them. (They are excellent by the way). I now pay $100 per month including my husband and myself as opposed to the $190 i paid per month for just myself with Allstate. When I called Allstate to cancel my policy they told me it had already been canceled due to non-payment. When i first moved into my house and got my first bill forwarded to me I filled out the back of the payment slip with my new address and whoever opened that envelope did not bother to read it or enter it. So i did not get anymore bills after that. Now I have to pay NC $50 for having a 1 month lapse in insurance. They did not even give me the courtesy of a phone call to tell me they were canceling me.

When I called my agents office they were very rude and told me I should be aware of my bills. I told them I am and thats why I don't ever have late payments and if a company gives the option to fill out the new address on the payment slip they should honor it. 1.5 months is not enough time to realize you have not recieved a bill on time.

If you sign up with them you will start to get phone calls constantly trying to sell you some roadside package for $1. If you google the number that comes up on your caller ID it will be nothing but complaints about how the people were hung up on when they asked to speak to a manager. Seems a little shady to me. Even if it's not Allstate calling, they still must be giving out their clients phone numbers to a company who is trying to get your credit card #.

Strengths:
None that i can vouch for

Weaknesses:
Rude customer service, irresponsible
