Price Paid:  $140.00 from PPE

Year / Model Reviewed:
2004 Apexi Cold Air Intake Filter

Summary:
Installed on my 2004 Toyota MR2, the filter sits close to the engine air intake opening. When new, there is a considerable inake "suck" sound with the Apexi installed. No noticed performance increase at all.

Strengths:
For my car, there really in no added benefit by adding the Apexi CAI or any CAI.

Weaknesses:
They are disposable filters that cost a LOT of money. They can't be cleaned (except with compressed air which is not very effective).

Similar Products Used:
Stock filter for this car works just as good.

Review 3 of 4

Price Paid:  $100.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
 91 MR2 N/A

Summary:
Although I didnt use the kit. I used the replacement filter on an APC intake tube made for a 90-93 GSR. I love it. My friend and I both tested the APEXI and a K&N on both our cars. The APEXI ran better and sounded deeper

Strengths:
Strong deep sound and performance

Weaknesses:
It was better then the K&N but did cost twice as much...

Similar Products Used:
Stock w/o resonators (ok not what I was looking for) APC intake with K&N

Review 4 of 4

Price Paid:  $110.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
 1993 / Nissan 240sx

Summary:
Overall my car pulled way harder all throughout the powerband (thouogh I am using this w/ my Injen intake pipe), the installation was very straight forward, and the MAF adapter is very nice also with "Apex" ingraved in it, this is one mod that I am very satisfied with.

Strengths:
The look of the filter and MAF adapter, the fact that it requires ZERO upkeep, and the power gains.

Weaknesses:
This filter was made for use with the SR20DET or CA18DET engine and the brackets that came with this this set up were of no use, until I swap in a J-Spec engine, also this product would have to be placed on order from Japan because Apexi-USA does not sell the filter for the 89 - 94 Nissan 240sx here in the states..

Similar Products Used:
Well I was using the Injen Intake set up though the MAF adapter and filter are just pure TRASH when compared, though the piping is great, so this is why I purchased the Apexi filter set up. The Injen pipe + Apexi filter & MAF adapter = (IMHO) The best Intake system for the Nissan 240sx.
