Review 1 of 3

Price Paid:  $0.00 from Insurance replacemen

Year / Model Reviewed:
1987 Nissan Pulsar

Summary:
Had an older panasonic unit that got stolen, this model was the replacement. I was extremely happy when I got this new unit as it has a really nice display, they blue glow at night is awesome! The controls are easy to learn, and it's easy to read at all times of day. The volume buttons and track forward/back are a little hard to use while driving, and the unit is sensitive to damaged CD-Rs, especially ones that have been left in the car and are damaged by heat. Sound quality was great with my stock speakers, even better now with my Sonys and Alpines. Everything was easy to install as well, I had little trouble.

Strengths:
Beautiful display, especially at night. Detatchable faceplate always a plus. Subwoofer output controls.

Weaknesses:
Some buttons are difficult to work while driving.

Similar Products Used:
Older panasonic HU, basically same design, only not as nice to look at.

Review 2 of 3

Price Paid:  $0.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
 Panasonic 401

Summary:
This is a good quality low end head unit with great sound quality. Only lacking shdb system on higher end units. Never skips, even on extremely scratched cd''s that barely play at all in other players. Could use stronger pre outs but is satisfactory if you have a low to mid powered system.

Strengths:
Looks, Sound Quality, Build Quality, Anti-Skip, Value

Weaknesses:
Low voltage pre outs No shdb system

Review 3 of 3

Price Paid:  $209.00 from Rim and Trim

Year / Model Reviewed:
 Ford Ranger XLT

Summary:
Great, affordable HU, that wil give you the goods. Doesn''t have the flair of some brands(Clarion), a notable high SQ (Nak), or the name (Sony), but this deck WILL deliver.

Strengths:
Looks good, especially at night. Has subwoofer control, remote, different choice of display patterns, NEVER skips, and even sounds good.

Weaknesses:
Low pre-out voltage, but good enough. Remote needs to be able to access sound settings.
