Hey Mike in Vegas.... Let me guess??....you have all your voice coils hooked up in paralell (1 ohm)??? bridged?? The amp is only stable to 4 ohms BRIDGED!!! no wonder its heatin up like a firecracker and shutting dowm....your asking it run 4 times what its rated to do!!!! This amp will POUND the heck out of anything you hook to it...you MUST keep the correct ohm load in the mode you are running....also supply the correct POWER going into the amp...2 batteries minimum! Guys/Gals...if you want a killer amp?, you will get everything out of this amp,whatever you pay for it!!! Better than 95% of amp problems are external related...99+% are people who "hook it up their own" stuff incorrectly, then want to blame the equipment!!! You really think companies spend millions of dollars every year to produce an amp for it to be a peice of junk so they dont sell them???....I dont think so!!!! THE AMP ROCKS!!!!!!!!

this amp is too damn inneficient. i have it hooked up to my limo with 2 audiobahn aw1200x subs... the amp makes em hit pretty hard, but the f#cker is sooooo inneficient, it has to turns its stupid @ss off all the time just to keep from overheating. after playing it for about 5 minutes, its impossible to keep your finger on it for over a second. no joke - over 150 degrees. its probably gonna melt on me soon. sure it has to pull the juice all the way from the front of the limo, but i went with zero guage wires, so i dont see what the problem can be. these used to be good back in the day, but there is better more efficient stuff out now. if u can get it under 400, its good deal, otherwise, dont waste your time.
